The best, common sense, evidence here is there is zero to support Baker going anywhere else but inside.
Baker ran towards the front entrance that would get him inside and upstairs quickest, but then decided "Heck, I'll take a detour to the back where I'm unsure there's even an entrance or anything else that will help me get upstairs". -Yaaa.
