According to Nagell the Soviets knew of a plot to murder JFK and asked him to kill Oswald in order to stop it, since they knew Oswald's role as a patsy.
My question is this: The Soviets knew that Nagell did not carry out the threat and he was in jail. They knew that Oswald was alive and the plot was still to take place.
Then Oswald or somebody using his name, appeared in the Soviet embassy in Moscow. The Soviets knowing about Oswald and the plot, surely they would have recognized an effort to connect them to Oswald and to the plot. Before they were not invloved in this and yet they asked Nagell to kill Oswald.
After Oswald's visit in Mexico they were directly involved and they would have a stronger motive to intervene. They could have killed Oswald in Mexico
and blame it to a robbery or something or an accident. Things used to happen there. And yet they failed to act. Why???Can anyone explain this contradicting behaviour on the Soviets' part?
