What a beautiful word "gormless" is. It speaks volumes and I think I'm going to purloin it for the future.
This, of course, demonstrates as clearly as anything can demonstrate, the great weakness of the democratic illusion, when you have a MP, notionally said to be representing the wishes of his/her electorate, actually representing the views of his/her Prime Minister for no better reason than to curry favour and generate personal political advancement.
It's a rotten and broken system purely because once elected MPs do not represent those who elected them.
I would have a system where re-voting takes place every six months automatically.
