Agreed it would.
It is also a good illustration of why the UK Establishment is so paranoid over Snowden. They will clearly go to any lengths to prevent that sort of information seeing the light of day. My fear is that the combined US-UK SIS's have already secured effective control over most - if not all - of what has not yet been made public - ie the vast majority of it
