That's the whole point, Magda. I believe I brought this up in another thread.
The weapon planted on the 6th floor was actually a "short rifle"; something just slightly bigger than a carbine. I am not saying the shots were made by this short rifle, or any other short rifle or carbine. Below is a pic of the model of Carcano that likely made the shots, the M91/41 long rifle:
Note the double set triggers in these rifles. These were designed for competition shooting, unlike the single triggered M91/41's issued to regular troops. The interesting thing about this rifle is that it has identical riflings as the M91/38 found on the 6th floor, and a bullet fired from an 91/41 would have the same rifling marks as one fired from an M91/38.
P.S. Reading your post again, I saw what you actually said. You are doubting the ability of the conspirators to pass off a 6.5mm Carcano M91/38 short rifle as a serious assassination weapon. I see your point, and have often thought the same thing. All I can say is, it seems to have worked for at least 50 years, and has relied mainly on the lack of firearms knowledge of most people.

Mr. HILL. The right rear portion of his head was missing. It was lying in the rear seat of the car. His brain was exposed. There was blood and bits of brain all over the entire rear portion of the car. Mrs. Kennedy was completely covered with blood. There was so much blood you could not tell if there had been any other wound or not, except for the one large gaping wound in the right rear portion of the head.
