Yes,we have the pine beetle die off up in the Cascade Mountains here.They attack the Lodgepole Pines.I didn't know that the problem was as extensive,and world wide.And I do think it is linked to the global warming issue.I live in the lower elevation Coast Mountains.We don't get lots of snow like the Cascades,but always a good snowstorm or two.Oddly enough,haven't seen a snowflake yet this winter. :eek:
