Greg,
Like you, I've been away from the DPF for a good length of time, but I don't have an excuse as good as yours. I am glad to learn that you are now recovering from surgery (which I hope will be speedy as possible) and were able to work on issues of interest to you (I guess you did that to keep your mind off the pain).
Eat well, rest well, and laugh a lot at humorous cartoons and funny movies. Many years ago Norman Cousins did that when he had some excruciating pain. He had an amazing recovery, and he owed it to laughter.
Hugs,
Adele

TELEPHONE CONVERSATION BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT AND J. EDGAR HOOVER November 29, 1963 1:40 p.m.
snip.....
Hoover keeps saying the fifth floor.
Phil,
You are right, Hoover says "fifth floor" many times during his conversation with President Johnson. He never mentions the sixth floor, but he is obviously referring to it, but calling it the fifth floor.
So you noticed the repetition of it and this caught my eye when I read your post more than a week or so ago, because Jose Rivera also referred to the fifth floor, saying "and there'll be some men up there" when he created the sketch showing me where "it" would happen, that being indicated by an large letter "X" below and to right side of the square representing a building. This is what I told FBI Special Liaison Agent Orrin Bartlett and Secret Service Agent John W. Rice when they interviewed me on Sunday, November 24, 1963, five days before this conversation between Hoover and LBJ took place, so Hoover must have had Orrin Bartlett's report of my interview and the "fifth" floor as called by Rivera. I don't know of any other source Hoover might have had other than Bartlett's at that time.
I think Rivera, being from Peru, had learned to count building stories in a different way than how most Americans do it, We count the land-level floor as the first floor and the next higher level as the second floor, and so on. In Europe and South America, our second floor level is their first floor, the land-level floor, is their lobby or atrium. Using that method of counting would make our sixth floor their fifth floor.

P.S., Phil, I will get back to you about your posts #73, 82, and 91. Good stuff.

I by no means would disrespect your agnostic views, however I still send positive wishes in my own way and sometimes that includes prayer. No offense to your views intended.
Hope recovery comes out the best for you and your kin.

From Mr. Marchetti we know that concern about aborting the Clay Shaw trial went to the upper levels of command authority of the Langley Criminal Gang of the CIA.

As you know there are so many things John Edgar Hoover says with the certainty expected of the nation's top redhunter and crookcatcher which are malarky.
He had his thousands of agents quash anything incompatible with Oswald's three shots from the sixth floor window.
Didn't Summers have three black bag jobs on the files perhaps even before Helen could destroy them.

I am looking at a rapid assimilation of seemingly diverse inputs into the focus of the pointillist plot.
The president is moving towar the south knoll.
April 23 Johnson said he'd do a luncheon in Dallas in the fall.
The Thomas dinner in Houston the 21st made the date certain; the destination at the Trade Mart made the route certain.
It was argued: if Oswald really meant to kill the president he'd have shot when the man was moving straight at him on Houston.
Zapruder was positioned to capture the coup de grace.
Sherry Feister's work provides a cone of trajectory to an area viewing an approaching target with minimal lateral and vertical movement.
The parking lot provides the type of outre hide used by the Beltway sniper which doubles as a getaway car--and the route out is open.
In Zapruder's frame we see an umbrella said by Jack White, Richard Sprague and others known and unknown to have been Gordon Novel.
Whom we see in Jim DiEugenio's Destiny Betrayed second edition to have been an asset to CIA and an electronics/communication expert.
Walkie Talkie Man would be in contact with the teams and Umbrella Man would provide the visual redundancy, fail-safe, fallback, and immediacy.
We were driving into an ambush.
And Greer did his part by braking for the shot--just imagine: what could be better than a moving target remaining in the crosshairs--a stop.
Horne finds the Clifton tape and we see LeMay heading for Bethesda where his control is noted. Finck is the experienced one and LeMay is his service superior. Custer notes the missing C-3/4 x-ray with the metal fragments.
Ferrie drives to Houston in case someone needed a lift.
Ferrie who was vehemently calling for a triangulated ambush.
Who found life so unbearable when Garrison subpoenaed him he typed up a couple of suicide notes and took drugs to detonate an aneurism (see this all the time as cod in suicides, death by stroke).
Massive attack on Garrison by Helms with a vengeance using every weasel, maggot, scorpion, and jellyfish drawn from the hills of Maine to the Western plain.
Ha ha: wilderness of mirrors, get it: we said he was shot from behind but he was shot from in front--that's us in the looking glass.
Garrison investigator Lt. Francis Fruge of the Louisiana State Police told HSCA investigator Bob Buras that Sergio Arcacha Smith's apartment yielded maps of the Dealey sewer system when raided; and Smith was one of two men whom Rose Cheramie traveled with to kill Kennedy in Dallas.
And that might be Hunt in the trench coat headed for the north knoll where Powers and O'Donnell and Yarborough smelled gunpowder and so many saw or heard something, Zapruder's bullet behind him, Bowers' disturbance.
CIA running guns out of Benghazi. What difference does it make.
The Federal Reserve is one hundred. Guido Giacomo Preparata shows Montagu Norman director of Bank of England did more to make Hitler fuerher and go for Uncle Joe's throat than the expendable Roem.

Adele, correct, but this wouldn't explain Dame Hoover's repeated use of 5th floor. It could just be a mistake, or it could be more sinister. We know, I believe, there WAS a shooter on the 6th floor - but NOT at the East side, but on the far WEST side - in fact, Boyd had that window and frame removed from the building to his home as a 'trophy'. It was later sold on ebay. Boyd was knowledgeable about the plot before the fact, and covered-up - certainly knew where in his building there were shooters....who were also elsewhere around the Plaza in a classic military style ambush.

Hi, Peter,
Orrin Bartlett, the FBI Special Liaison Agent, was introduced to me by Secret Service Agent John Rice, who also said that he (Bartlett) was from Washington. He was a liaison between the FBI and the Secret Service and the White House, high up in the FBI hierarchy. Years later he was selected by President Johnson to be his protector on Air Force One because Johnson did not trust the Secret Service (Cartha de Loach's oral history statement in LBJ Library, Austin, Texas).
The day before, Saturday, November 23, 1963, Orrin Bartlett had been at the White House garage, inspecting the Presidental limousine and then flew to New Orleans that evening or night. Why would Hoover send such an important man from Washington to New Orleans when New Orleans had its own staff of FBI agents? They knew "someone had called Oswald" as the New Orleans Times Picayune newspaper article headline of Saturday, November 23, 1963, stated, and as SS Agent Rice said, after I finished telling them of my experiences and of speaking with Oswald, "So that's how it happened." In Bartlett's report to Hoover, he would have said, repeating Rivera's words, "fifth floor". I am not sure that it had been clearly established at that time that they had evidence that Oswald had been on the sixth floor that day (or at the time of the shooting, which they never actually did).
Bartlett was highly trusted by Hoover at that time, please consider that.
Yes, Peter, I know about the shooter at the WEST window of the sixth floor, his photo and all, but this was not known about until years after the assassinatkion. He, it has been thought, fired the shot that hit Governor John Connally.

And what of Harvey. Tasked by Helms, he approaches Maheu (Hughes' man) and Roselli (murdered between Hoffa/Giancana and Nicoletti).
RFK sent him to Rome? Am I confused or is not the CMC the fascist-gladio forebear of Permindex and Clay Shaw?

This, along with the unambiguous physical evidence from Hoover declaring a conspiracy in action (or the CIA creating one to be "discovered")

I'd suggest that anything presented (read" agreed upon as our position") be as unassailable and as easy to communicate.
On Jan 27, 1963 Rankin and WC members discuss an autopsy "explanation" that does not appear in the existing autopsy... or is referred to by any notes, testimonies or physcial evidence
Mr. Rankin:
Then theres a great range of material in
regards to the wound and the autopsy and this point of exit
or entrance of the bullet in the front of the neck, and that all
has to be developed much more than we have at the present time.
We have an explanation there in the autopsy that probably
a fragment came out the front of the neck, but with the elevation
the shot must have come from, and the angle, it seems quite apparent,
since we have the picture of where the bullet entered in
the back, that the bullet entered below the shoulder blade to the
right of the backbone, which is below the place where the
picture shows the bullet came out in the neckband of the shirt
in front, and the bullet, according to the autopsy didn't strike
any bone at all, that particular bullet, and go through.
So that how it could turn, and --
Rep. Boggs. I thought I read that bullet just went.in a
finger's length.
Mr. Rankin. That is what they first said....

JFK autopsy report in existence
"The other missile entered the right superior posterior thorax above
the scapula and traversed the soft tissues of the supra-scapular and
the supra-clavicular portions of the base of the right side of the neck.
This missile produced contusions of the right apical parietal pleura
and of the apical portion of the right upper lobe of the lung. The
missile contused the strap muscles of the right side of the neck,
damaged the trachea and made its exit through the anterior surface of
the neck. As far as can be ascertained this missile struck no bony
structures in its path through the body."
Commander HUMES - Well, the defect in the fascia was quite similar, which is the
first firm tissue over the muscle beneath the skin, was quite similar to this.
We were unable, however, to take probes and have them satisfactorily fall
through any definite path at this point.
Mr. SPECTER - Now, Doctor Humes, at one point in your examination of the
President, did you make an effort to probe the point of entry with your
finger?
Commander HUMES - Yes, sir; I did.
Mr. SPECTER - And at or about
that time when you were trying to ascertain, as you previously testified,
whether there was any missile in the body of the President, did someone from the
Secret Service call your attention to the fact that a bullet had been found on a
stretcher at Parkland Hospital?
Commander HUMES - Yes, sir; they did.
Mr.
SPECTER - And in that posture of your examination, having just learned of the
presence of a bullet on a stretcher, did that call to your mind any tentative
explanatory theory of the point of entry or exit of the bullet which you have
described as entering at Point "C" on Exhibit 385?
Commander HUMES -
Yes, sir. We were able to ascertain wi th absolute certainty that the bullet had
passed by the apical portion of the right lung producing the injury which we
mentioned
FBI Report:
This opening was probed by Dr. HUMES with the
finger, at which time it was determined that the trajectory of the missile
entering at this point had entered at a downward position of 45 to 60 degrees.
Further probing determined that the distance traveled by this missile was a
short distance inasmuch as the end of the opening could be felt with the
finger.
How can we believe anything the autopsy report states when the doctors from Parkland hospital stated they inserted two chest tubes and connected at least one to underwater drainage. Three IV's were started one infiltrated (infiltrated = swelled and fluid went into the tissue). JFK received IV fluid and 2 units of O negative blood. The body that was autopsied at Bethesda never had chest tubes inserted and never had IV's inserted. The body that was autopsied only had some superficial lacerations where IV's and chest tubes could have gone. Dr. Humes assumed the Dallas doctors had contemplated inserting IV's and chest tubes but because the president was too moribond no IV's or chest tubes were inserted.
The body that was treated at Parkland hospital was not the body that was autopsied at Bethesda.
