Rereading that article by Oliver, its good--and I am glad he put the quote in there about the helicopter pilots-- but he is wrong about the ARRB not declassifying anything.
In my opinion, one of the most important pieces of evidence yet was declassified by the ARRB.
This was the record of the Sec Def meeting in Hawaii in May of 1963.
That record confirms the withdrawal was in process that summer. McNamara has everyone over from Vietnam and he goes through each agency, and he asks them, OK how many are you ready to withdraw right now? And in some instances, the says its not enough!
But he makes it clear that anyone wanting to drag their feet will get a firm no from the White House, and he means the president.
IMO, that one sealed the deal.
We put it on the cover of Probe. Which is probably why Oliver cried when we stopped the presses.
