Travel Channel Marrs Discuss JFK Conspiracy
#1
Jim Marrs and ex-CIA operative Mike Baker discussed the JFK conspiracy in Dealey Plaza. The show starts with Baker showing how the metal plaque on the Depository says "alleged" assassin Oswald, meaning his guilt is still uncertain. Baker then goes to the window above the snipers nest on the 7th floor and shows how easy a shot it was. At that point I said here we go again. But then the show took a weird turn and had Jim Marrs talking about Lee Bowers. Baker and Marrs then set up a test where they looked to see if Bowers could see smoke and a flash from a rifle from the railyard tower. Turns out the test showed both were very visible. Interesting was the clearly visible smoke cloud coming from the rifle. Baker then had Belzer talking about how many witnesses died after the assassination and how extreme the odds were against that. From there Baker went to the spot where Bowers hit the abutment. They then determined that Bowers was run into the abutment by a car that pushed him there in a covert type operation. They then showed how Bowers had no autopsy and was cremated that night. The implication being they got rid of the evidence.

This is progress but Marrs should have added that Bowers lost his fingertip in a suspicious manner and told people privately he had seen a man throw a rifle in a trunk. The obvious interpretation of this is Bowers saw the whole thing, seeing exactly what Hoffman saw only from a much better vantage point. He then told a safe version of smoke and flashes with his finger as a reminder of what not to say. While the show makes a serious concession to the conspiracy it also inserts some unknown person to voice the other side with a predictable lone nut type McAdams denial for each example of evidence. Marrs shouldn't team up with these guys. He should tell it straight. I don't like the fact the CIA guy is trying to wiggle in as a good guy seeking the truth. Someone should remind him his outfit was heavily involved in the assassination:

This program had an ex-CIA guy admit that Bowers' story was possible and that he was murdered by a car that shoved him into a bridge abutment. The CIA guy also said Bowers had a strange quick cremation with no autopsy. This could be the first signs of a cross-over being attempted to bring intel in as the good guys seeking the truth.

I haven't yet looked nor have I investigated what the background on this [ex]CIA guy is, but I think it always important to remember that when people came into Langley on the morning of the 21st; or when they got their contacts usual dead drop all around the World, there was no coded message which when decoded said, 'Don't forget, tomorrow is the Big Day!'. There are good and bad even in the CIA - there are those now who are in it or once were who would like the truth out; others who would rather a nuclear war than the truth out. Even if there are more of the later, there are some of the former. Ditto FBI, MI, other. In fact I believe I have worked with honest types from such agencies in my research work. I've also been had and nearly done in by some of the 'bad' types. That said, the Agency/Company as a entity was involved - but not everyone in it; in fact only a minuscule %, if some of the more important names - along with unknows/little-knowns before the event, IMO.

"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience! People are obedient in the face of poverty, starvation, stupidity, war, and cruelty. Our problem is that grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem!" - Howard Zinn

Too bad the CIA guy didn't do the basic research to show Bowers knew a lot more than he told like the rifle being thrown in to the trunk and his own finger being cut off mafia-style.

I am a retired accident investigator and conduct cold case accident investigations. I was involved in this episode and there was more information on the accident that was not included in the episode. The initial research I did for the filming of the episode resulted in my conducting a full blown investigation and reconstruction of the accident. The results are in my book: JFK Assassination Eyewitness: Rush to Conspiracy. The Real Facts of Lee Bowers' death. Additional information can be found at http://www.anitadickason.com

So you're saying Bowers died by accident and that stuff about his witnessing the wooden fence shooters is all crazy conspiracy stuff, or am I misunderstanding you?

Bowers clearly witnessed the whole fence shooting event and was murdered for it.

Yes, you have misunderstood. My investigation and reconstruction deals with the car accident, the events before and after the accident and the various conspiracy theories as the cause of the accident. What Bowers saw is not in dispute and in fact his documented testimony indicates he was a very observant individual.

From observing Bowers' statement to Mark Lane I interpret his wording "I could not say then nor can I say now" as a subtle way of sending the message to Lane that he can't say all he knows. This makes sense because by the time of the Lane interview Bowers had already privately told people that he saw a man throw a rifle into the trunk of a car. If you view the Travel Channel show you can see from a visual example that Bowers had a direct line of sight to the back of the fence so there's no way he would have missed seeing the whole fence-shooting event. Unless of course he wasn't looking in that direction, but he obviously had his attention drawn to the fence by the shots and then saw the hiding of the gun, and, most likely, rushing of the shooters to appear as Secret Service agents. But I guess if you are talking "documented testimony" you are including all the statements above.

However, I'm confused. Your book does expose the fact Bowers witnessed the Grassy Knoll shooters and was killed for it, right?

My book is about the investigation and reconstruction of the accident that killed Bowers' and the events following the accident. If you go to these two websites there is additional information on the book and accident reconstruction. www.anitadickason.com and www.txcr3.com. The documented testimony is the Dallas Affidavit, the Warren Commission testimony and the Mark Lane interview.
