Morales assassins: Bolivia gang "fought in Balkans"
#81
Here's a little more info on Eduardo Rosza Flores' execution/dirty tricks outfit known in some circles as the "Croatian International Brigade". NB it's revealing that the "Croatian journalist" is not named. Of course a knowedgable Croatian source essentially confirming the conclusion reached in this this thread some days ago - ie that Rosza Flores executed the whistleblowers (including journalists) who were about to expose his neo-Nazi/Opus Dei/narco/arms smuggling operation - blows the coverup narrative out of the water:

Quote:(Rosza Flores) becoming commander of a brigade of 380 foreigners, the First International Platoon, known by its Croatian initials, PIV.

"He was an action-chaser," a Croatian journalist with years investigating connections between foreign mercenaries and Croatian secret services tells TIME. "PIV was a notorious group: 95% of them had criminal histories, many were part of Nazi and fascist groups, from Germany to Ireland." Rozsa rose to the status of Major and gained a reputation for brashness — before scandal hit in December of 1991. That's when a PIV enlistee named Christian Wurtemburg, a Swiss national, turned up dead — tortured and garroted. British journalist Paul Jenks began investigating Wurtemburg's death and was shot dead as well. (British journalist John Sweeney made a movie about the deaths in 1994 for Channel 4 called Dying for the Truth.)

"Many here firmly believe that Rozsa was responsible for these deaths," the Croatian journalist tells TIME, explaining that Rozsa had accused Wurtemburg of being a spy and ordered him to be punished. He did not like anyone sniffing around the incident and probably had a hand in Jenks' shooting. Still, Rozsa was never officially charged for the acts, and soon after he left Croatia.

Also note that Rosza Flores returned to Bolivia, the country of his birth, largely incommunicado. And yet this is a man who is happy in the limelight - eg "Chico" and his National Anarchist - ie National Socialist - proselytizing.

Quote:A source in the Bolivian government confirmed for TIME that Rosza last entered Bolivia in early September of last year. That's also when Rosza's regular broadcasting of his life via his half-dozen personal blogs comes to an abrupt end. He appears only in the online photo album of Michael Dwyer, Rosza's supposed Irish-born cohort who was killed in the hotel room next to Rosza's last Thursday. The photo shows him enjoying Carnival festivities in late February.

The Bolivian government has been slow in handing out any more details of the alleged assassination plots that finally sent Rozsa to his grave, aside from saying they believe there are plenty more armed groups in Bolivia — and that ties are emerging between the dead men and conservative opposition party members and prominent Santa Cruz businessmen, though so far they won't name anyone. Morales' political opposition has adamantly denied any link to the accused terrorists and says that the government faked the episode in order to execute the men. Rozsa's cousin has been his only family member to step forward in his defense, and has denied his dead relative's involvement in such a plot; but he has not offered an explanation as to what exactly Rozsa was doing in Bolivia recently.

Eduardo Rosza Flores - the truth is in this thread.

But the truth is dangerous to the deep black players, and MSM is too cowardly and too "owned" to go there.

Quote:Croatia: Morales murder plot suspect 'wanted to form separatist army'

Zagreb, 22 April (AKI) – A Croat allegedly involved in a plot to kill leftwing Bolivian president Evo Morales said in an interview that he travelled to Bolivia to form a secessionist army in the country's mineral-rich Santa Cruz region.

“They called me from Bolivia, from Santa Cruz, they told me to come home, because the motherland calls,” Eduardo Rosza Flores said in a Hungarian media interview.

The interview was recorded last September and excerpts from it were published on Wednesday by Croatian daily Jutarnji.

Flores, who had dual Bolivian-Croatian nationality, was killed last week in Bolivia in a gunfight with police.

“My task is to form an army in Santa Cruz as soon as possible and to be its leader,” Flores said. “I’m not a mercenary, nor will I ever be, but if motherland needs me I’m going,” said Bolivian-born Flores.

In the interview, recorded just before he travelled to Bolivia, Flores said the Santa Cruz region opposed Morales’ rule and was fighting for autonomy.

“Only if autonomy doesn’t succeed by peaceful means, will we proclaim independence,” he concluded in the interview.

Flores, 49, a Bolivian of Croatian origins, said that his trip to Bolivia was well organised, including his air tickets and illegal crossing of the border from Brazil.

Flores, nicknamed Chico, went to Croatia in 1991, to fight in the secessionist war against the former Yugoslavia.

After the war ended with Croatia's independence in 1995, he retired from the army with the rank of major and lived in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.

Apart from Flores, an Irishman, Dwyer Michael Martin, and a Romanian, Arpad Magyarosi were killed in a shootout with police in the eastern city of Santa Cruz.

Two other suspected plotters, Elot Toaso, a Hungarian, and another Bolivian of Croat descent, Mario Francisco Tadic, were arrested during the gunfight.

Morales said they were members of a gang planning to kill him and several other officials. The Bolivian press linked the plotters to an opposition leader in Santa Cruz, Branko Marinkovic, who is also of Croatian descent.

The discovery of the alleged plot raised concern in Croatia about the fate of a sizeable Croat community in Bolivia after Croats were described in the media as separatists and fascists.

Some Bolivian newspapers have made a link with the World War II fake or quisling state in Croatia that was formed by the leader of the separatist Ustashe movement, Ante Pavelic, under the auspices of Hitler and Mussolini.

Quote:Facebook Kills Off Assassin Group

8:17am UK, Wednesday January 28, 2009
Social networking site Facebook has removed a group looking to hire a gunman to assassinate Bolivian president Evo Morales.

Evo Morales targeted

Targeted: The Bolivian leader is a controversial figure

The group requested donations to fund an attempt to "liquidate" the South American country's leftist leader.

Over 8,000 members had joined the Spanish-language group since its creation in August.

Facebook wiped it after being alerted to the posting by an outraged blogger.

Titled Global Collection To Hire A Sharpshooter To Liquidate Evo Morales, the group sought to "get the money to inspire someone to do it".

Many of the 497 postings left by users were deemed "hateful", violating Facebook's terms of use.

In my honest opinion as a human I think it's not his fault he's such an imbecile.

Group creator Hony Pierola

One posting, dated August 10, suggested Mr Morales be "tortured and made to suffer, like he's doing indirectly to many Bolivian people".

The group's 20-year-old Bolivian creator, Hony Pierola, denied any malice.

He said he started the group "to laugh a little" and insisted he "wouldn't be so stupid as to do it with serious intentions".

But he remained unapologetic, describing Mr Morales as "an imbecile".

The first Indian president of South America's poorest country, Mr Morales has been a divisive figure as he drives a socialist agenda.

On Sunday, the country's voters approved a new constitution that seeks to empower the country's long-suppressed Indian majority.

I see that some Croatian papers are referring to Roszas as a Croat. I don't know if this is because of his passport or because of some family history. The town his family lived in in Hungary was closer to the Czech border. Though I think a town Roszas often refers to St Laszlo is closer to the Croat border.

The Croats are restless in Bosnia now and seeking a further breakaway state to better represent their interests than the NATO/EU/Muslim dominated Bosniak puppet statelet currently does. Many Croat also involved in the Kosovo Anschluss. Now the Camp Bondsteel narco state.

A former narco state in Latin America, Bolivia, then run by the Santa Cruz mafia, (many of whom are now in US jails or witness protection scheme but many happy at home on their haciendas and singing the Horst Wessell song and Marko Perković by the fire place) ably assisted by notorious nazi Klaus Barbie who has CIA protection. Bolivia currently governed by an uppity native who actually thinks Bolivia belongs to Bolivians and who was formerly a cocalero and as president wants to decriminalise the use of the traditional coca leaves used by the indigenous for millenia as medicine, stimulant and ritual drug. He even proposes to re classify cocaine at the UN. He also redistributes land and other forms of wealth to all Bolivians. He gives democractic power to all Bolivians which is used by friends and former players in the Santa Cruz mafia to attempt, with the use of hired help from Balkanisation - R- US, recreate once again the good times of their narco state and for the US and global capital to avail itself, at fair market rates, of all known natural resources in Bolivia. The money comes out clean and everyone is happy. Except the Bolivians but they don't count because they don't own anything and never work.

From post #76:

Quote:Flores claimed to have been wounded several times in Croatia, and to have been promoted to the rank of colonel and given Croatian citizenship by then-president Franjo Tudjman.

Flores has no Croatian blood.

The butcher Tudjman made him an honourary Croat for services rendered: presumably including ethnic cleansing, drugs & arms smuggling, committing war crimes and then manufacturing evidence blaming those war crimes on the Serbs, and executing whistleblowers and investigative journalists in cold blood.

Morales expelled US Ambassador Philip Goldberg - whose speciality allegedly is the organisation of ethnic cleansing.

Morales is fighting the foreign landowner puppet organization, Camba Nation, with its neo-Nazi, Hitler Youth-inspired kiddie wing.

Morales' Secret Service did their duty and executed a hit squad that, in all likelihood, would have attempted to assassinate their President.

No politicians are perfect. But Morales win my vote for Politician of the Year.

Eduardo Rózsa-Flores condemned from his own mouth:

Quote:On 21 April 2009 Hungarian Television broadcast a previously unreleased interview[2] recorded in September 2008 with Rózsa-Flores by Hungarian journalist András Kepes. Rózsa-Flores had requested the interview prior to leaving Hungary for Bolivia, and asked Kepes not to release the interview until either he returned from Bolivia, or "in the event anything should happen to me there".

Rózsa-Flores claimed, that a Bolivian national requested him to return to Bolivia and help establish a milita defense system for the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz, in response to a perceived central government abuses. Rózsa-Flores said the local politicians wanted to establish the self-defence militia force within the framework of the local regulations. He was tasked to select the leaders of the militia, and help create a structure for the system using experiences gained from his Croatian military operation.

He stated the militia role was to be strictly one of self-defense in the event of aggression by either central government or native "indian" paramilitary forces. and not to attack anyone. A part of a previous interview [3] has shown in the film where he condemned terrorist activities.

He said his decision to accept the request was unconditional and motivated solely by a desire to defend the land of his birth.

Rózsa-Flores is also being claimed as a "National Anarchist matryr" by the Bay Area National Anarchists:

Quote:State agents of Bolivia shot and killed National Anarchist Eduardo Rózsa-Flores on April 19th. Eduardo was a Hungarian national that wrote the Nemzeti Anarchizmus! blog. During a distinguished life he was a soldier, journalist, actor, and poet. During the Yugoslav war he served with distinction in the Croatian special forces retiring with a rank of colonel in 1993. Much mystery surrounds the death of Eduardo. He was apparently killed by State agents while attempting to organize a militia to defend the interests of the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz, in response to government abuses. We at the BANA network hail and salute the life's work of a comrade and champion of freedom.

Here's a reminder of what "serving with distinction in the Croatian special forces" actually involved (from post #81 above):

Paperclips? Did someone mention paperclips?

Move along. Nothing to see here.

Quote:Eduardo Rózsa Flores, also known as Jorge Hurtado Flores, 48, a Bolivian-Croatian national, who was reportedly the leader of the Bolivian operation. Flores’ journey is an interesting one, to say the least. He was born to a Hungarian father and Spanish mother, who in 1972 left Bolivia for Chile, in support of Chilean president Salvador Allende’s socialist experiment. The Flores family later moved to Europe, where Eduardo’s political views shifted gradually to the right. In 1992, he moved to Croatia, where he fought as a mercenary for the anti-Yugoslav nationalist forces and eventually led the Croatian forces’ First International Platoon (Prvi Internacionalni Vod, known as PIV), an amalgamation of foreign nationalist mercenaries from several nations operating under Croatian command. At the end of the Yugoslav Wars, Flores was awarded Croatian citizenship and moved to Hungary, where he became increasingly vocal in far-right circles. According [9] to one of his Hungarian contacts, Flores relocated to Bolivia in May 2008 “to fight against its communist government”.

Links to Opposition Financiers

Several Bolivian officials have said [10] that Eduardo Rózsa Flores was invited to join the militant anti-Morales opposition by Branko Gora Marinković Jovicević [11], 42, one of Bolivia’s richest individuals and a well-known financier of the anti-government opposition. Marinković, who holds dual Bolivian-Croatian citizenship, was born to a Croat father and a Montenegrin mother, who immigrated to Bolivia from Yugoslavia in the 1950s, allegedly under fear of retribution after having collaborated with Nazi-affiliated Croat forces during World War II. A resident of prosperous Santa Cruz, Marinković was until recently a leader in the separatist campaign by Bolivia’s energy-rich white-controlled provinces. In late 2008, however, he stepped out of the political limelight, reportedly to shield the movement from revelations about his family’s “Nazi past”.

Behind the Operation

It has already been confirmed by several sources in Bolivia, Croatia, Hungary and elsewhere, that at least three of the five members of the covert cell fought (possibly together) in the Croatian War of Independence during the 1990s. What is more, Bolivian investigators have traced the mercenaries’ travel routes from Croatia and Ireland to Bolivia.

The fact that the five were staying in one of the country’s most luxurious hotels is undoubtedly seen by investigators as evidence of substantial funding in support of the operation. The Croatian link connecting most of the five mercenaries, including alleged leader Eduardo Flores, is also important. Traditionally, the militant far right in Bolivia, Venezuela and Guatemala has relied on mercenaries from nearby Colombia, Nicaragua, Argentina or the United States. Inviting European mercenaries is certainly not unheard of, but it is notably rare, and points to possible connections with Branko Marinković. Additionally, it would be difficult, if not impossible, for the five to operate out of Santa Cruz without the tacit consent of Marinković and his clique, who virtually own the city.

US Involvement Suspected

The question, of course, is whether Langley was aware of the covert operation. US media outlets have remained strangely silent on the entire affair. But European media, where the news from Bolivia has been making headlines, report [12] that an enraged Evo Morales asked US President Barack Obama “to repudiate the plot” during a closed-door session, noting that “[i]f the US president did not repudiate the alleged conspiracy I might think it was organized through the [US] embassy”. President Obama reportedly [13] told his Bolivian counterpart that “he was unfamiliar with the incident” and denied that “his administration was [...] involved”.

Meanwhile, the investigation in La Paz continues. Sources tell me that Interpol has confirmed the mercenaries’ travel routes and Croatian connection, and it is actively assisting Bolivian investigators. It is admittedly rare that two members of an alleged international assassination squad are captured alive, or that laptops and documents containing information on planned operations are seized by government authorities. It could well be the case that Bolivian officials are already in possession of information that may soon embarrass several intelligence services in the Americas and beyond.

More background on the US Ambassador kicked out of Bolivia by President Evo Morales.

The piece was written a year or so ago:

Quote:A Bad Time for “Innocent Mistakes”

Roberto Bardini - Tinku

Translation: Machetera

Last June 28th, the 20 year old U.S. citizen Donna Thi, from Miami, was detained at the airport in La Paz, for trying to bring in five hundred 45-caliber bullets which she’d declared as “cheese” to customs. Waiting for her in the terminal was the wife of Colonel James Campbell, the head of the military section at the U.S. embassy in Bolivia.

The North American Ambassador, Philip Goldberg, intervened immediately to obtain the woman’s release and said that it was all “an innocent mistake.” The ammunition, he said, was meant for “sport and entertainment.”

Bolivia’s Director of Migration, Magaly Zegarra, did not hold the same opinion as the Ambassador. According to her, “the fact that a North American citizen, related to the embassy, is carrying ammunition on a North American aircraft coming from Miami, a city where terrorists from all over Latin America are protected by the government, especially their teacher, as Posada is called by the terrorists, and make a mockery of all [justice] mechanisms, is questionable.”

These days, immigration agents and Bolivian police are careful with passengers coming from the United States. In March of 2006, another U.S. citizen, Triston Jay Amero, a.k.a. Lestat Claudius, a 25 year old Californian carrying 15 different identity documents, set off 300 kilos of dynamite in two hotels in La Paz. And on December 8th of this year, when the Summit of the South American Community of Nations was held in Cochabamba, security services uncovered the presence of two fake U.S. journalists photographing presidential vehicles.

In the Bolivian diplomatic world, as an expert pusher of separatism, Philip Goldberg’s nickname is “the Ambassador of Ethnic Cleansing.” Between 1994 and 1996 he was Special Assistant to Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, one of the strategists behind Yugoslavian disintegration. He also promoted Serbia’s and Montenegro’s separation and was in Kosovo, where he fomented conflict between Serbian and Albanian forces.

One of the autonomy ringleaders [in Bolivia] is the Croatian landowner Branco Marinkovic, a supporter of a Free Trade Agreement with the U.S., a member of the Federation of Private Entrepreneurs of Santa Cruz, the Bank, and the Chamber of Commerce. Marinkovic is also a shareholder in the company that controls the transport of natural gas (Transporte de Hidrocarburos Transredes), which is 50% owned by Enron and Shell and operates gas and oil pipelines over 6,000 kilometers that stretch to Argentina, Brazil and Chile.

The actions of the United States, which pulls all the strings of dirty war and destabilization, continue unabated. The situation is further aggravated when Philip Goldberg, a well-known stoker of the fires of separatism and fratricidal warfare, is sent to a country as the U.S. ambassador. The groundwork had already been well prepared by his predecessor, the ex-Ambassador David N. Greenlee, whose history over two periods in Bolivia was hallmarked by interference, impunity and criminal activity.

Goldberg, recognized as an expert in stoking ethnic or racial conflicts and his experience in Bosnia’s ethnic struggles preceding the breakup of the former Yugoslavia, would be key in Bolivia. No-one doubted that his hand was behind the intense separatist process happening in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, a propitious setting for his government’s plans, with exacerbated elements of racism and hatred against the indigenous population, and prevalent slavery that formed the basis of dictatorship and neoliberal impositions; finally defeated by the Bolivian people in recent years, through a heroic struggle.

In the past, Goldberg worked in the U.S. State Department, on Haiti, among other countries, as well as South Africa, Colombia and Paraguay. After serving as Deputy Chief of Mission in Santiago de Chile between 2001 and 2004, Goldberg went once more to the Balkans to head the Kosovo mission, where he worked until 2006 to break away Serbia and Montenegro.

When he arrived in Bolivia, the Croatian businessmen (his friends) settled in Santa Cruz, had already put together the movement “Nación Camba,” one of whose main leaders - with business ties in Chile and other countries - Branco Marinkovic, ended up leading the local Civic Committee, the foremost promoter of destabilization, with a strong influence throughout the rest of the Media Luna, where the country’s greatest natural resources are concentrated.

The ambassador did not hide his support for the businessmen who sought an unusual governmental autonomy for Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Beni, Pando and Tarija, in the country’s eastern portion. Known as the “media luna,” [for its roughly crescent shape] these four departments total 685,095 square kilometers, more than half of Bolivia’s surface area. The majority of natural gas, agribusiness and ranching is found here, and accounts for half of foreign investment.

Last year, President Morales denounced the conspiracy by the United States and the oligarchy in his country against his government, during the Seventeenth Ibero-American Summit in Santiago de Chile.

He also said that the “most plausible theory about the identity of the promoters of this initiative, leads to industrialists and landowners, acting with the support of various politicians from the departments of Santa Cruz, Beni and Pando.” The correlation through the meetings of Bolivian putschists and Spain’s Popular Party, in support of a “dirty war” was laid bare. He also denounced the support of fascist Spaniards and other Europeans for the conspiracy, under the obvious leadership of Spain’s ex-president José María Aznar.

There were also serious denunciations supported by concrete data about the participation of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), according to data from Bolivia’s intelligence services and other analysts, of the putschist plans. Millions of dollars were allocated to all kinds of organizations, including student groups, journalists, political parties, intellectuals, businessmen and others, with the precise objective of derailing the Constituent Assembly. Shock troops, promoted confrontations, autonomy movements, “civic” strikes, permanent mobilizations in the country’s seven regions, street violence, and others would be used to overthrow the government.

A coup in Bolivia is crucial for George W. Bush’s government, in light of his defeat in Iraq after five years of sowing terror (and more than a million deaths) in that country, and the extremely serious economic situation in the United States during an election year.

The protagonists in the new counter-insurgency who are pushing for an internal confrontation and external intervention are well-covered in the majority of the mass media.
