NBC's Brian Williams Under Attack
#1
News anchor Brian Williams made the mistake of saying he was in a jet that was hit by fire in Iraq. It turns out he was in the jet following the jet that was hit. The Swiftboaters who are now wallowing in war pride are taking him to task for this and calling him out.

Williams has now gone on leave from his anchor position while these great scrutinizers of fact are figuring out what to do with him. This, of course, is designed to create legitimacy for the accusers who are now our great deciders of credibility after earning that privilege by being shot at in Iraq.

Meanwhile if we look at the track record of the accusers themselves they did not pretend the same level of scrutiny and outrage towards the major international war criminals who sent them there after lying about Weapons Of Mass Destruction. So a news anchor giving a wrong description of being shot at is fair game for the new mob in America who can decide a person's fate based on an alleged high degree of demand for truth but major war criminals occupying the presidency and vice presidency changing world history with lies and sending those same judgers to a war based on lies are OK and don't merit the same degree of angry sanctimony.

There's a bad smell coming off America. How do you say "Heil Hitler" in America? Answer: - "Support Our Troops"...

The anchor is an idiot as are the swift boaters. Of all the lies about the Iraq war this is the one every one makes a big thing about? ::face.palm::

The whole war was based on lies and no one is charged with the war crimes that flowed like spilled oil and blood from those lies.

Hope everyone caught John Stewart's scathing diatribe last night on Comedy Central against the MSM for their castigation of Brian Williams. I understand that the sharks are smelling blood in the water here, but he's been telling this same untrue story for more than a decade. You gotta wonder what it is about right now that has sparked this all-out rabid jackal feeding frenzy.

Did Williams get a hold of some information he shouldn't have? Working on a tell-all? Doing a story that shouldn't be told? I would hope Williams can find the courage to be candid at this point.

CIA and Pentagon sensing the record attendance for the Sniper movie can finally push public opinion in favor of their permanent War On Terror regime.

It's simply another Swiftboat campaign feeding off of the same propaganda and targeted public segment.

Also, they did well with Dan Rather.

Jon Stewart made a crack about Brian Williams's faux pas vs the WMD and suddenly quit his job the next day. Hmm.

Dan Rather was doing something anti-Establishment, namely, trying to track down GWB's National Guard "service records", when he was run out of town. ( Does that make the mainstream media antidisEstablishmentarians? ) What is Brian Williams up to?

Rather was scuttled by a similar dirty trick of using bad sources even though he was correct in the thrust of his story about Bush stepping out on his National Guard service during Viet Nam. I wonder if anyone ever checked if Rather was set-up? Rather was Webbed.

The same Swiftboat-type puritans went after him for inaccuracy. The point being that none of them showed any similar concern over accuracy with the WMD's.

What the government gets away with is shifting their international intel ops to domestic under the guise of national security for the war effort, which is a pure violation of posse comitatus. They get away with it because they are internal and secret and therefore protected by themselves. The problem is, with the permanent war government, that is a permanent condition. No Constitutional rights or objective media in other words.

You gotta wonder why ABC's Brian Ross and Peter Jennings didn't face the same howling lynch mob, when for three days they loudly proclaimed that the Army found "bentonite" in the 2001 anthrax attack on the Senate, (bentonite is supposedly used by Iraq to weaponize its anthrax), and then, predictably, chemical tests revealed no bentonite in the anthrax.

This story is really not getting enough coverage.

Now they are really going after Brian Williams claiming he invented a story about being on a Seal Team 6 helicopter headed on a mission where they were going to get one of the high value targeted individuals on their 'playing card' list. Williams had a conversation on the Letterman show describing being embedded with the team in the helicopter on the way to the target. Williams told of all the secrecy instructions he had been given about going along. He also told of being sent a piece of the destroyed special covert helicopter that crashed at the Bin Laden compound as a gift from one of the team members along with a "throat cutter" Williams had joked about after seeing it on the belt of one of the soldiers during that flight.

Now they say they are scrutinizing this story. The US media is presenting Seal members saying embedding wasn't allowed on such missions. They had a Seal come on CNN and say it just wasn't allowed and no one had any memory of Williams going along.

Something's going on here. Either Williams violated no-talk orders and is now being punished by Pentagon liars who allow themselves the privilege of domestic theater lying or he's lost his head and is fabricating bizarre tales on the air. The latter might be possible if Williams has been psy-ops cracked and somehow induced to create these false tales, but I don't think so. I think our new Bush Nazi government is now completely black and is doing a lying denial of Williams' account for propaganda purposes and to pull rank on the US media. There's an interesting media/government battle line being drawn here with serious consequences that deserve serious coverage. I think the Seal CNN had on is a liar just like Bush and Cheney and the WMD. In neo-Orwellian American Government doublespeak saying embedded reporters were not allowed on such missions does not necessarily mean Williams wasn't on the helicopter. Remember, these are the same people who told us "We know where the Weapons of Mass Destruction are and we will find them". Apparently different groups are held to different levels of accountability (Americans prefer a vulnerable individual as an easy target over tougher government liars).

There's some real world-class cowardice going on here with the media and how quickly they'll turn on their own and attack them for personal/political gain. I have a strong feeling this is a domestic op by the military to rough up the civilian media sector and show who's boss and who controls the truth like sneering "I'd do it again" authoritarians. There's your Republican Congress in action.

I would bet the cowardly scum that now call themselves our government have issued secret gag orders to Williams under the new fascist Patriot Act laws disallowing him to produce evidence or speak about it at the threat of further punishment.
