Now that Obama is gone for ten days I thought a thread on his real legacy, not the manufactured propaganda stuff, would be helpful. I see Obama as a kind of 'trojan horse' for the Secret Government. I'm very happy that an African-American became President, but his promises of 'Hope' and 'Yes we can', Change' etc. were not fulfilled. He did a few positive things domestically, but on foreign policy and spying on everyone he was in some ways equal to or worse than his predecessors. How much it was his own policies and how much he was forced into them is hard to say. However, he didn't put up much of a fight if his campaign promises were his own and his policies were forced upon him. He had the gift of great elocution, and is a very bright man [unlike the current seat-warmer in that office]. It is sad to note that no matter what a President seems to believe in and represent, approximately the same programs are carried out; the same types of wars fought; the same spying on everyone expanded; the Deep State untouched; big banks, big weapons manufacturers, big corporations profit at other's expense; our rights are continually diminished; and our financial stability continues downward at light speed. I find it emotionally hard to be critical of Obama now that we have much much worse in his position, but let the chips fall where they may, and the truth be told. There is enough criticism to go around to Obama, his predecessors, and his current successor.
This summary of Obama's two terms by Corbett is very good IMO, very sad, as well as enlightening.
I plan to list Obama's several accomplishments and not only his many failures - and feel free to do the same.
