I see the below url's are no longer extant. I'd suggest the wayback machine. Once, they were there......

I also have photos of the car in bad condition, rusting in a relative's of Tosh Plumlee backyard in the Dallas area generally. Sadly, the car was lost I believe. I believe it was the real deal and used in the assassination machinations. Its ownership, title and pedigree are strange beyond strange.

Yes it was stored at Tosh's daughter's place for several years, not far from where we live, but they could not keep it there so it was eventually taken to a lot for dead cars. No one had a place to keep it. The detail and connections in that piece were pretty amazing. I have told RB that it hurts his cred. to continue to speak at conferences hosted by Baker, to no avail.

Richard, like myself, believes that LBJ was connected to the assassination. But as J used to say "not at the top of that pyramid". Apart from that Richard will need to reply to this question himself.
His Rambler article digs deep into very important names and connections in the Deep State. I have not read it in over 25 years but I remember that all of the connections were vital to an understanding of deep political reality.

I hope Richard doesn't have LBJ as anywhere near the top of the pyramid or plot in his new book. LBJ was involved, but from my research was a small fish until after the assassination. Yes, he benefited, but was NOT central - at all. A LOT of people were either used or played minor roles in the or with the group that was central....but this doesn't mean they were central to the plot nor even directing or informed on it except on a need-to-know basis. So many diversions.....the confusion the real plotters have sown have sadly worked all too well. At least some still seem to stay on a steady path toward the truth....

I keep seeing JFK assassination researchers acting skittish when the subject
of LBJ's involvement is concerned. It seems a matter of great, widespread anxiety even now to deal with the facts. After studying the case from ten
minutes after Kennedy was shot, I have become convinced that it
is obvious Johnson was integrally involved in the plot ahead of time as well as in the coverup. Whether
or not he initiated it is unknown, though it's likely that a plot of such seriousness and complexity
required numerous key movers. But he was not merely a minor player, as seems overwhelmingly
clear to me in my research.

For years I resisted that insight, sometimes angrily, as I discuss in INTO THE NIGHTMARE. Such
denial is what in psychology is called "the point of maximum resistance." No
good book has been written on the subject of LBJ's involvement, but
there is a great deal of evidence pointing in that direction, including
my interview with Senator Ralph Yarborough, who was riding with him
in the convertible during the shooting. As Penn Jones used to say, "LBJ was
the only one who ducked." Yarborough explained to me what LBJ (and
Rufus Youngblood) were doing when the shots were fired and immediately after
and what LBJ's demeanor was during the motorcade before the shooting. This is only one piece
in the jigsaw puzzle of LBJ's involvement.

.

This is probably a partial result of what you yourself mention -

Quote:No good book has been written on the subject of LBJ's involvement

So the various books that do tout LBJ as a central figure don't have a great rep - I've seen numerous unhappy comments and reviews about Barr McClennan's book, Philip Nelson's etc -

I need to read Joan Mellen's FAUSTIAN BARGAINS, which received good reviews. I also need to finally sit down and tackle the Kindle edition of your book Joseph.

The impression I've always had is that LBJ wasn't clueless about what was coming up. That noted, ducking in the motorcade and showing an awareness of what was imminent don't serve as strong evidence that he was a major player - I'm open to other evidence that supports the theory, and suspect you're on top of it and can offer more. What did Ralph Yarborough say?

I cited only one piece of evidence. There is a wealth of other evidence. What Yarborough told
me about the motorcade is in my book INTO THE NIGHTMARE, which you should read if you are interested in this area. He talked
about how unusually tense and preoccupied LBJ was before the shooting, which the senator attributed to LBJ being preoccupied with the Don Reynolds
testimony underway at the time. Yarborough, who was in the back seat with LBJ and Lady Bird Johnson, described LBJ and Youngblood ducking before and during the time of the shooting to listen together to the
agent's walkie-talkie. He said Youngblood did not jump over the front seat to protect LBJ, as
was later claimed. There are several pages on this.

I've assumed [with evidence and informed speculation] that LBJ had foreknowledge - but that is a long way from his being one of the primary conspirators vs. just a prime person to benefit [and the reason, I believe, they had to let him in on it beforehand - and also to have him there, which was slightly unusual to have both President and V.P. in the same motorcade or even same trip]. While I would NOT be shocked to hear that LBJ was 'up there' with others who I place high on the totem pole of the plot, I have not seen anything other than he was made aware of the plans just before the assassination. He was also close to Hoover and Hoover knew, at least of the plot and who some of the plotters were - unclear if he knew the date and details. He and LBJ must have talked. LBJ was close to some others who knew in advance and as they knew he would shortly become the President, certainly told him...when is not clear and less clear is if LBJ had anything to do with the plot - other than to know it was going down and when and where. If anyone has any other evidence I'm more than happy to hear it and entertain it. LBJ was a son of a bitch on his nice days.
