New COPA project
#11
John, Great Project and Idea! No easy task to do well!....I assume you want it to match AND EXCEED The Men Who Killed Kennedy in content and impact. Also, I know you're not naive, but expect some subtle resistance that will come in strange ways...a pretty girl who turns-up interested; a potential backer; a staffer etc...who will have an agenda to make things go slow or not go at all....this will not be like doing a Masters Thesis! I'd suggest you contact O'Sullivan about equiptment, possible videographers and just things generally. I'd include a very small part to the story of the attempt to destroy the entire Kennedy family. I'll bet it expands into more parts than you think and think you should be open to that - save the additional material for a sequal, if needed. Best of luck!

Thanks Peter,

I've had a few emails offering advice and knowledge. John Hankey just sent me an email, so I'll definitely pick his brain a bit. I've contacted Shane O'Sullivan in the past, so I hope I can get a hold of him when I have a few specifics that I need to knock around.

I'll also have to watch just about every documentary that I can get my hands on, specifically low budget ones.

I'll be putting a few fail safes into action once I get going to ensure that I don't lose any data through faults of my own of others.

Cheers,

John

Jan Klimkowski may be able to give you some helpful advice. He's made documentaries although probably on a bigger budget than you're planning. But he is near your corner of the world and may have good ideas of where to find things and people that you can use. Might save you from having to re-invent the wheel. Worth a PM I think.

"He would, wouldn't he?" Mandy Rice-Davies. When asked in court whether she knew that Lord Astor had denied having sex with her.

“I think it would be a good idea” Ghandi, when asked about Western Civilisation.

Yes, Jan would be a good contact and person to pick the brain of. I assume you have some idea of who you'd like to interview. Some will give interview w/o problem, others need months of courting and some will be afraid or scared-off if you don't approach them very quietly and with sensitivity! I'd even contact Nigel West. Gil Jesus would be another for possible use of some of what he has posted and knows about. It will take more money and more time than you think...... Many authors and researchers are good speakers, have good info and insights and not known by the public. I'd suggest this end-up on a website where one can get references and 'further reading' etc.

Ain't that the truth?!

Yes, Gil is another good idea. Why not contact Oliver Stone? For a donation as well as technical support and general information, contacts and ideas. I think his heart is in it.

That is an excellent idea. Stone is still very much interested in this issue. Last night on Real Time with Bill Mahr, he was a guest and he gave James Douglas' "JFK and The Unspeakable" to the host asking him to read it.

For the next week or so I'll be watching two documentaries a day to work out what kind of style I am going for. This includes deciding between a narration or some other form of presentation.

After that I'll definitely give Jan a call.

As for Stone, If I knew how to contact him I'd gladly ask for some support. We're not asking for a whole lot.

Good to hear that he promoted Jim Douglas' book. It's extremely important and good to hear that Stone is still interested in the case.

I'll be on black op radio next week so I can probably go more in depth on the project and hopefully that will bring us closer to starting the filming process. It's all about the funding really. The desire is there.

Does anyone have suggestions as to where else I might be able to publicise the project. By this I mean forums, internet news media, blogs, podcasts etc? I'm doing my best, but I'd appreciate some advice.

Thanks,

John

You can find Stone's Prouction Co. Ixtlan here. Remember, he's 'big' enough that he doesn't open his own mail...so construct the letter within a letter - with the outside letter letting his mail opener know what you want and who you are and who you KNOW!
