Remembering Teddy and smearing Jack

A lot of people on the "Left" are quite lazy and ignorant about the true history of JFK, Vietnam, the assassinations, etc. What little they know they learned decades ago from the usual suspects, and they haven't bothered to keep up with anything new. It's unfortunately human nature to be resistant to new information, and stay locked in your comfortable world view.

Particularly the ones who have been in receipt of CIA, Pentagon &/or Foundation money. Amazing.
"There are three sorts of conspiracy: by the people who complain, by the people who write, by the people who take action. There is nothing to fear from the first group, the two others are more dangerous; but the police have to be part of all three,"

My opinion has not changed.

Like Jan, I welcome and even encourage honest, informed critical analyses of the Kennedy brothers' public lives, regardless of the conclusions they may present. See JFK and the Unspeakable for insight into the sometimes harsh criticism leveled against President Kennedy by Thomas Merton.

Beyond all that they accomplished in their political careers, I venerate John, Robert, and Edward Kennedy for their respective spiritual maturations.

James Douglass, I believe, shares this point of view.

I just saw an article in Russ Baker's online mag that Danny died last week, at 72.

It's long been my experience that people on the left or just liberal will not touch this stuff. Zero interest in the truth. Bush bad, Obama good. Period. Conspiracy = crazy person. Ignorance is their chosen bliss.

The establishment Left has always been awful on the issue of the assassinations of the 1960s. I go over a lot of this in depth in my book, but we know at this point that both Gloria Steinem and Timothy Leary were affiliated with the CIA. The admiral in charge at the Gulf of Tonkin was Jim Morrison's (of The Doors) father. Malcolm X's personal bodyguard was an uncover FBI agent. The list goes on.

The Kennedys were different from the vast majority of very wealthy people, and certainly from nearly all "liberal" politicians. This is why, even today, the powers that be are still frightened of Robert Kennedy, Jr., or Caroline Kennedy, or Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. On the surface, only RFK, Jr. seems any kind of a threat to them, but they realize that blood is thicker than water. They don't want to take a chance on letting another Kennedy obtain real power.

I can't understand how they could knowingly serve the same government that slaughtered their major relatives?
