America to disintegrate in 2010?

Sobering piece from Stephen Lendman, including a prediction from a Russian analyst that the US will break apart next year:

I notice a bit of secessionist talk has been coming from Texas recently.

There is only a late awakening in small corners of America to what is coming, and few wish to talk about it. Most are in denial, don't know, don't care, or are too caught up on politics-as-usual and life-as-usual. I have tried to jump-start discussions in several discussion boards with limited results and have put together a "starter kit" that I have e-mailed to family and posted in several locations.

But the band plays on while the captain adds ice to his drink, and some are storing 'four hundred n' ninety-seven n' a half feet o' rope'.

The unspoken part of the article is that this is the intended outcome, the new world order. National interests are obsolete and were long ago replaced with corporate interests. Intentionally bankrupting the US is by design, and is a step in the process. It's the IMF'ing of America. Joseph Stiglitz has repeatedly described the process in detail, which is one of the reasons he's routinely ignored by the powers that be. Naomi Klein also described the process in The Shock Doctrine. Interesting that Global Research doesn't put this in context. It's not like them to sugar coat things.

Then again, if Texas actually secedes there's a heck of an upside.

Did big Jack really try to board the Titanic on its maiden voyage?

I don't know. I doubt it. The song (perhaps you have to have heard it, rather than just reading the lyrics) is a very tongue-in-cheek, satirical, 60's "talking blues" piece for those who smoke rope, so I doubt there is any effort to stick to proven historical facts.
