We are pleased to note the publication of On the Trail of the JFK Assassins, by Dick Russell (Skyhorse Publishing, Inc.; 306 pp; $24.95).
It is impossible to overstate the importance of Mr. Russell's JFK research. His The Man Who Knew Too Much stands as a pillar of the research canon.
Mr. Russell has been introduced to the Deep Politics Forum, and on behalf of my co-founders I cordially invite him to entertain our questions and comments regarding his work and otherwise to join the fray.
I'll begin with two queries.
1. Are you aware that, in his high school yearbook, LHO is pictured taking part in activities of the "Hypnosis Club" of which he was a member? The book was offered on eBay a few years ago; I copied the photo to a computer hard drive that later crashed beyond recovery. Can you confirm my recollection?
2. Have you been able to discover the mission(s) and actions of Field Operations Intelligence? Might FOI have been involved, in whole or in part, in locating, protecting, and/or facilitating the recovery and transfer of the so-called Yamashita treasure?

Charlie - thank you for your kind words about my work. I was not aware that Oswald took a class in hypnosis in high school - fascinating, as that coincides with when he first became acquainted with David Ferrie. I am afraid I don't know whether FOI may have been involved in the search for Yamashita's gold.

I am not too familiar with these forums so hope I am doing this right. I just wrote a "quick reply" but perhaps should have hit "reply to thread." Anyway -I did not know Oswald was involved in a "hypnosis club" in high school, that is fascinating since it coincides with when he first knew David Ferrie as a Civil Air Patrol Cadet. And Ferrie used to get his cadets involved in hypnosis.
As for FOI, I know no more today than I did when I first wrote about it, I'm afraid. No idea whether they were involved in search for Yamashita's gold.

It was JUNIOR High School that he attended in New Orleans. The school name was Beauregard. I think at that time it was 8th or 9th grade. Armstrong's book has the complete timeline. Thanks for joining us here, Dick.

I'm anxiously waiting for my copy. The Man Who Knew Too Much was a great book, indeed! I'm interested in the new Castillo material and the difinitive account of events that happened after Nagell's death and whatever new leads and information lies within. Another welcome to this Forum.
