Does anyone know reliable search engines for conducting deep politics research?
The main ones are now a joke. Google, Yahoo, Bing etc., utterly useless is returning hits for specific information - and instead "flood" your browser with trivia and undifferentiated information. I feel sure this has been done to restrict access to deep politics information and stories, and that this action has increased dramatically in the last few months.
The danger is that ordinary people will be left entirely at the mercy of the major media BS and propaganda - unless they can be very specific about their search terms. Even then the major search engines filter out results all too often.
We as a community are in danger of becoming a sealed community communicating only with ourselves, I think.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

Startpage at least has the advantage of being private. I'm not sure if its algorithm differs significantly from Google etc. but it seems like one of the better options to me. Some other good research tools are:

And...

Using closed-caption searches on those can bring up some interesting and useful info.

I also found

If you use Tor browser you can use Disconnect.me which uses all the search engines to search and also disconnects them from trailing you when you leave them. It does the same, disconnect, for all the pages you visit as well.
I also found this the other day which might be useful.

I haven't actually implemented this yet so I cannot vouch for it but if nothing else it should speed up your searches and make them clutter free. And it is interesting for all sorts of deep political reasons even if not the ones you were searching for.
These may help as well:

Wow! Thanks Magda! That
http://www.matveev.se/net/akamai.htm is technical BUT VERY HELPFUL! I will implement that immediately. I use Linux ONLY.... Microsucks is spyware on steroids.... Google is very evil...as are most of the big players out there in cyberspace.
I have used the Deep Web to find things...it is amazing what is there....it takes a bit more work than in a normal [sic] search engine...but about 90% of all that is available on the internet is to be found there...not on the normal [sic] internet.

You're welcome Peter. I can't remember what I was looking for, it wasn't the akami thing, but when I saw it I knew it was a treasure of information. I use Linux also and plan on implementing the IP tables thingy as well. I might see how it goes for you and get your help when I'm ready to roll it out.

Great piece of sleuthing about Akamai, I thought - and although not surprising, I suppose, it does still have an impact just how much we are all automatically monitored as soon as we go online.
Meawnhile, as I keep saying, I can't reccommend enough the VPN service Private Tunnel, which is fast and not expensive. It's also very good in defeating geoblocking.
PS, the author of that piece on Akami suggests using Yandex.com as a search engine, because it doesn't fall within the Akami grab. It looks good and is fast, so I think it probably is an excellent search engine.
