Explosion Norway
If true Peter, it is indeed a bombshell.

How many times do we see this after such incidents?!

Norwegian police characterize the "very similar" drill and its chronological proximity to the "practically identical scenario" as a coincidence.

Such "coincidences" are now routine during terror events. On September 11, 2001, the Air Force conducted the Vigilant Guardian, Vigilant Warrior, Northern Guardian, Northern Vigilance exercises.

Of course, those "nasty Serbs" are perfect for MSM to demonize the extreme right-wing.

The historically literate know that the primary fascists in the Balkans are the Croatian Ustaša, and their bastard offspring, and the Official History of the Balkan tragedy is a Big Lie.

Many many months ago, Magda and I were exposing the real exteme right-wing links to Breivik - including real details of Ulemek and the Liberian connection - many of which were then developed by Peter Dale Scott in his exploratory essay.

Even now, MSM refuses to explore the links outlined in posts #320 - 323 in this thread.

Quote:Anders Behring Breivik attacks inspired by Serbian nationalists, court hears

Gunman says he aspired to 'crusader' mentality of Serbs during Nato bombing of Kosovo as he is questioned on Knights Templar

Helen Pidd in Oslo

guardian.co.uk, Wednesday 18 April 2012 12.40 BST

Last summer's attacks on Norway were inspired by "Serb nationalists", Anders Behring Breivik has told a court in Olso as he attempted to distance himself from the "old school" of rightwing extremism propagated by the Nazis.

Giving evidence for a second day in his trial, the 33-year-old was questioned about the philosophy behind his deadly acts and the Knights Templar (KT) network of anti-Islamists he claims to have co-founded in London in 2002.

"As regards the identity [of KT]," he said on Wednesday, "the essence was to try to distance oneself sufficiently from national socialism because it was quite blood-stained. We felt it completely essential to do so. For the extreme right to be ever be able to prevail in Europe in the future, one had to distance oneself from the old school ideology. One would chose a new identity."

He added that this identity "was, in a way, imported from Serbia". The Serbs who fought and died during the Nato bombing of Kosovo in 1999 had a "crusader" mentality to which he aspired, he said.

Questioned about his path to radicalisation, Breivik said the bombing of Serbs was "the straw that broke the camel's back" for militant nationalists like himself.

Prosecutors have said they believe the Knights Templar network did not exist "in the way he describes it". Breivik said it did and that police had not done a good enough job in uncovering it.

"It is not in my interest to shed light on details that could lead to arrests," he told the court.

The issue is of key importance in determining Breivik's sanity, and whether he is sent to prison or compulsory psychiatric care for the massacre that killed 77 people on 22 July 2011.

The prosecution spent the morning session asking Breivik about trips he made to Liberia and London in 2002.

He was questioned about the three people he claimed to have met in London, but refused to reveal any details, including the identity of a the "English protestant host" there who became his "mentor". That man is named in his 1,801 "compendium". or manifesto, as Richard the Lionheart.

Breivik claimed that his visit to Liberia in April 2002 backed up by passport checks carried out by police was made to visit a Serbian "hero" who was wanted for war crimes. He refused to reveal the man's name. Norwegian police suspect he was referring to former paramilitary commander Milorad Ulemek, who was convicted of assassinating Serbia's pro-western prime minister Zoran Djindjic. But police are not sure whether the pair actually met, and Ulemek's lawyer claims they have not.

Breivik told the court he travelled to Liberia, which was then in the middle of a civil war, with two "covers". Arriving in the country, he said he told the Liberian authorities that he had a "bleeding heart" and was working for the children's charity Unicef.

When he met with two bodyguards who were to protect him during his stay, he told them he was there to buy blood diamonds, the court heard.

Breivik indicated that he saw himself a "martyr" who had "sacrificed himself" in order to inspire others to follow his example. True role models can achieve credibility though "an action, an operation", he said, comparing himself to "keyboard warriors" who spread their message via the internet.

"I think the big problem for militant nationalists in Europe is that there have been very few role models since WW2. If a sofa general is to borrow tradition from al-Qaida and doesn't dare to do it himself but asks others to do it … without having any background himself he wouldn't have any credibility. That's how role models are created, by sacrificing oneself."

A person cannot "glorify martyrdom" among "rightist groups in Europe" if he does not have the "qualifications for promoting that tradition", he said.

Asked by the prosecutor if he had gained credibility among such groups since the 22 July attacks, Breivik said yes, before adding: "It would be incorrect of me to say anything about that but what is true is that there are many keyboard warriors who have tried to promote things that can improve us … but they face serious problems because it's difficult to promote martyrdom when you fear death yourself and you are afraid to fight yourself."

Breivik admits he set off a bomb outside the government headquarters in Oslo, killing eight, then drove to Utøya island outside the capital and massacred 69 people in a shooting spree at the governing Labour party's youth summer camp. On Tuesday he boasted that it was the most "spectacular and sophisticated" attack by a nationalist militant since the second world war.

He added that his victims, who were mostly teenagers, were not innocent but legitimate targets because they were representatives of a "multiculturalist" regime he claims is deconstructing Norway's national identity by allowing immigration.

Breivik, Pam Geller, international fascism, and...the Knights Templar?

The trial of mass murderer Anders Breivik is producing some strange revelations. A correspondent has sent us the following:
Breivik claims he was taught rhetorical strategies as well as military knowledge on a course in Liberia, where his first cover story was that he was working for UNICEF and his second was that he was smuggling diamonds. His passport indicates he did go to Liberia for 2 weeks in 2002.

Norwegian psychiatrists first accused him of psychotically imagining the trip. On the basis of that view, he was declared insane and therefore unfit to stand trial. Then they backtracked and declared him sane.
(For the full report, see the comment from "b" appended to the post titled "Rampage," which you can see if you scroll down a bit.)

Even though Breivik is violent and deranged, we should not presume that his associations are hallucinated. This man had friends. What, then, do we make of his claims to have received aid from a modern version of -- god help us -- the Knights Templar?
Facing scepticism from the prosecution, Breivik insisted that the the Knights Templar (KT) anti-Islam network he claimed to be a member of was real and that he did attend a meeting of the group in London in 2002. But he gave conflicting evidence about the group and his role within it. He described the KT as both a grass roots movement and a series of one man cells. He also said he was a "cell commander" when he came back from the KT meeting in London but later said that that was incorrect. He also failed to explain how he came up with his estimation that there were 15 to 80 members in KT but insisted there were more than 15.

Breivik talked about the "English protestant host" in London who became his "mentor" but refused to reveal his identity. That man is named in his manifesto, as Richard the Lionheart. Shortly after the 22 July massacre, Paul Ray, who writes a blog under the name Lionheart, said he belonged to an anti-Muslim group called The Ancient Order of the Templar Knights but denied ever meeting Breivik and said he was horrified by the killings
The defendant repeated the claim made to police after his arrest that there were two other cells in Norway ready to attack and said that could happen "any day".
As a result of this odd testimony, certain newspapers have published surveys of the many modern groups that claim to be carrying on the Templar tradition. Those groups are, I am sure, innocent.

Nevertheless, Breivik is not a lone wolf.

He links up to one of my least-favorite bloggers, Pam Geller. In the following excerpt, SION refers to "Stop Islamization of Nations" while EDL refers to the English Defence League, an anti-Islam movement:
Another development concerns the hardening of links between European and US anti-Islamic organisations. US blogger Pamela Geller is a key figure driving closer transatlantic relations. Geller, who is president of Sion, was mentioned in Breivik's manifesto and was a vociferous protester against the development of a mosque in Lower Manhattan in 2010.

The co-founder of Sion is Denmark's Anders Gravers, organiser of Stop Islamisation of Europe. Gravers met Yaxley-Lennon in Denmark last month.

Campaigners are concerned that US neo-conservative and evangelical groups will begin sharing resources with the leagues. Images of EDL demonstrations are already used at Tea Party movement fundraising events, while officials from groups such as the Christian Action Network have met EDL activists. Other US and UK links include the Virginia-based anti-Islamic blog, the Gates Of Vienna, which counted Breivik as a contributor.
Obviously, we are seeing the rise of a new form of fascism in both the U.S. and Europe. In this new strain of the old disease, Muslims (not Jews) are the scapegoats and Christian fundamentalism plays a key role. As we saw in an earlier post, this neo-fascist movement has ties to the drug trade and Eastern European criminal syndicates.

It is not an exaggeration to say that the Tea Party is just one part of an international fascist movement. And the Tea Party, to a large extent, now controls the Republican party.

This just in:
Tellingly, Pamela Geller attempted to wash her hands of any pre knowledge of Breivik's plans by excising a paragraph from one of his long rants which she posted in 2007. The portion cut out: "We are stockpiling and caching weapons, ammunition and equipment. This is going to happen fast."
The time may come when we have to deal with fascist monsters like Pam Geller the same way we dealt with the fascist monsters of the 1940s.

Although this new fascist movement does not target Jews now, the situation may change. Geller is fanatically pro-Israel, but the EDL promulgates crude anti-Semitism. There are also undeniable ties between certain modern fascists and Islamic extremists. The far right has always been a place where unfathomably strange bedfellows hop in the sack.

That's rather provocative.

Earlier in this thread we identified some likely Balkans arms dealers that Breivik may have met in Liberia.

It is entirely possible that Breivik was being used as a courier of some sort, and tested for his reliability, during his trip to Liberia.

I wouldn't be surprized if, in addition, he was taught military techniques and some "rhetorical strategies". The extreme right loves micro-analysing the speeches of demagogues such as Hitler.

So perhaps in Liberia Breivik received some training by extreme right elements in speechmaking.

However, against this, Breivik seems to have been groomed for a mass slaughter operation, not as a charismatic political leader.

His courtroom utterances have been clearly focused and targeted, but the press have not claimed that he is a great or charistmatic speaker.

I'm not sure what to make of this alleged new information. But it is intriguing.

Yesterday in Court he said he had planned on beheading [while filming the beheading and then putting it up on the internet!] Gro Harlem Brundtland [who was supposed to be on the Island talking to the teenagers]. Nice guy!

Norway killer wanted to behead former premier, kill all 569 people on island

Self confessed mass murderer and right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik listens to one of his lawyers Tord Jordet on the fourth day of proceedings in the courtroom 250 at Oslo's courthouse on April 19, 2012.

OSLO There were 569 people on the island the day that Anders Behrig Breivik opened fire and he told a court on Thursday he would have liked to kill them all including beheading former premier Gro Harlem Brundtland.

He also said he wanted to post a video of Bruntland's execution on the Internet.

Breivik murdered 77 people last July, in the Utoya island shooting spree and an Oslo bombing. In addition to beheading the former premier, Breivik planned three not one car bombs and a death toll of several hundred people.

In the bomb attack in Oslo, he said his goal "…was to kill the entire Norwegian government, including the PM… and everyone in the building."

Breivik said that originally he had planned three car bombs and a shooting. He said he had considered placing a second bomb near the headquarters of the Labour Party, which he accuses of triggering a "Muslim invasion" with its generous immigration policies.

For the third location, he considered parliament, Norway's Aftenposten newspaper and City Hall, before deciding on the royal palace, although he insisted he had planned to warn the royal family so they would not be hurt.

He said he then planned to ride a motorcycle to a far-left squatter community, then to the Dagsavisen daily and finally to the headquarters of the Socialist Left Party, "executing as many people as possible" in each place.

But it turned out to be much more difficult than he expected to build bombs, so he ended up only bombing the government offices and then heading to Utoya, where "the goal was to kill everybody."

During his killing spree, he first blew up a van filled with 950 kilograms of explosives at the foot of the tower housing the offices of Labour Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, who was not present at the time.

He then travelled to Utoeya island where, dressed as a police officer, he methodically shot for more than an hour at hundreds of people at a Labour Party youth summer camp, taking 69 lives, mostly teenagers.

Police and emergency services gather following Anders Behrig Breivik massacre at a summer youth camp on July 22, 2011 on Utoya Island, Norway.

The 33-year-old far-right extremist also testified he had given his murder weapons names from Norse mythology, calling his rifle "Gungnir" after Odin's magical spear and his Glock pistol "Mjoelner" after Thor's hammer.

And he revealed he had once spent a year playing video games, including role-playing online game "World of Warcraft," and a first-person shooting game, to prepare for what he believed would be a suicide mission.

"The plan was to not surrender before the whole plan had been carried out," he told the court. "It was a suicide mission where the probability of survival was equal to zero."

Breivik also practiced a form of Japanese meditation daily since 2006 to help block out his emotions during the attacks and said he was still meditating to help him get through the trial.

"I stand for Utoya and what I did, and would still do it again," he said.

Survivors and victims' family members cried quietly, shaking their heads in disgust at some of the harshest words Breivik has uttered in the trial.

He insisted he was "not a child murderer", and described the Utoya victims as "category B" traitors because they held "leading positions" within the Labour party youth movement.

Earlier in the day, Breivik answered questions from the prosecution about the year 2006, when he isolated himself to spend an average of 16 hours a day to play video games after returning to live with his mother at the age of 27.

"Some people dream about sailing around the world, some dream of playing golf. I dreamt of playing World of Warcraft," he told the court.

He insisted the game was very social, "pure entertainment (and) has nothing to do with July 22″. He said it was a "hobby" and he decided to play it for a full year so as not to regret leaving a dream unfulfilled.

"I felt it was right to do this to prepare myself mentally to sacrifice my life," he told the court.

Breivik also mentioned the game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare," which he said he had used as actual training for the shooting spree.

"It is a war simulator. It gives you an impression of how target systems work," he explained.

He has used testosterone since April last year and anabolic steroids on the day of the attacks, he said.

Calm and cooperative during questioning, Breivik smiled several times while discussing target shooting techniques.

When confronted about his smiles by prosecutor Svein Holden, he acknowledged the survivors and victims' families watching were probably reacting "in a natural way, with horror and disgust."

Norwegian authorities on Thursday deported a German woman who has expressed support for Breivik during visits to the courthouse this week, police said.

The unidentified woman has claimed to be Breivik's girlfriend, but Jan Kvarme of Norway's police said those reports were unconfirmed. Asked by the private TV2 television station if she had exchanged letters with the gunman, she nodded her head.

Breivik, charged with "acts of terror," has entered a plea of not guilty, saying his actions were "cruel but necessary."

IMHO, Very likley one or more...but I do not think [yet hope against hope] that they will be exposed in this trial. I think the Norwegian Court and legal entities are not 'tuned in' to this possiblility - and were they to become so, certain powerful forces would divert them from such a line of questioning.....just my hunch. Hope to be wrong!

Danny - check out the work of Lt Commander Thomas Narut and themes explored in the Clockwork Orange thread here.

Quote:The conditioning of Narut's assassins was accomplished
by audio-visual desensitization, a standard behavior modification
process. These men were "desensitized" to mayhem
by being shown films of people being killed or injured in a
number of different ways. At first the films would show
only mild forms of bloodshed. As the men became acclimated
to the scenes of carnage, they would see progressively
more violent scenes. The assassin candidates, Narut
explained, would eventually be able to dissociate any feelings
they might have from even the goriest scenes they
viewed.
Narut said that of course U.S. naval psychologists would
have first selected the candidates for training by their psychological
makeup. Those selected for assassination assignments
were often from submarine crews and paratroops.
Others were convicted murderers from military prisons
who had already shown a proclivity for violence.
Still others were men who had been given awards for
valor. World War II Medal of Honor winner Audie Murphy
was a subject of extensive research.
The best killers, according to Narut, were men whom psychologists would classify as "passive-aggressive" personalities.
These were people with strong drives that were
usually kept under tight control. Such types were usually
calm, but from time to time would exhibit outbursts of temper
during which they could literally kill without remorse.
Narut said that through psychological testing, he and his
colleagues were looking for more such men, for further
conditioning.

Also the notorious montage scene in The Parallax View.

Narut's "The Use of a Symbolic Model and Verbal Intervention in Inducing and Reducing Stress" can be seen as a variant of Ipcress File techniques: where IPCRESS stands for "Induction of Psychoneuroses by Conditioned Reflex under Stress". The (fictional?) Ipcress was based in part on Cameron's psychic driving.
