Mary Pinchot Meyer Case said to be solved..

I'm sorry to say your going into chronic over kill mate! Crump could just have been a psychopath and Meyer could have been at the wrong place at the wrong time. Sometimes as Magda says "A cigar is just a cigar".

Sorry, Seamus, but Jim and Lisa would be the last two people to endorse the logical fallacy of argument from authority.

And to continue your Deep Politics 101 and Logic 101 education: Even if they or anyone else could disprove convincingly Janney's hypothesis, it would tell us nothing about the nature of Mary Pinchot Meyer's demise other than it likely did not happen the way Janney describes.

The simplest explanation of Meyer's death that includes an appreciation of context: the murder was a deep political act.

Thank you CD. I lookforward to reading Janney's book when I have the time. I do not let other researchers or writers make up my mind for me. If this book is as "bad" as Family of Secrets" I am certain to like it.
People really need to do their own thinking.

They also need to summon humility and to understand the distinction between arrogance and confidence -- challenges I attempt to meet every day.

Seamus Coogan Wrote:I like you CD, I like you a lot. but I'm getting sick and tired of this "you don't get Deep Politics wankery" or you giving me the a working class son of a trade unionists and political activists not to mention anti U.S spy base protestors and is mates with people like Nicky Hager and Mike Frost (guys who ousted the Echelon system) Have you heard of that Charles? Thats pretty deeply political don't you think? I have deep political insight as much as any body else on this forum. I just apply caution. Forgive me for being cautious in a mine field. Just because you buy this Janney tripe doesn't make me think your a moron does it?

Forgive my being caustic. But I've had a shitty day and I despair of a wildly intelligent and marvelous fellow being a condescending arrogant poo.

As for the idols propped up by the idolaters: They need to understand and accept the unique responsibilities that accompany the privilege of mentor status -- chief among them the responsibility to make common use of the admonition, "but don't take my word for it".

George Michael Evica, my deep politics mentor, never permitted me to argue that a proposition must be true because he knows it to be true.

Seamus: Will you actually READ the book and make your comments based on the merits or Janney's analysis?

My point was that although the cigar in Rush's mouth is technically just a cigar when it is in Rush's mouth it takes on a whole new context. Rush is a pig and that cigar represents smokey backroom piggery.

I will grant Rush one thing. He deserves credit for accurately, physically resembling what he is.

Maybe Charles will point out the Freudian aspects of Rush enjoying that cigar (which is just a cigar) the way he does?

Dawn I'm having a big giggle at the moment. I think it's a little ironic for yourself telling me what I should read before commenting on anything. I am still having Hankey flashbacks. As for CD it's almost as bad he had my head in the guillotine when he thought I'd become Martyn Gregory's house bitch lol.

One thing I didn't express well enough in the previous post is that I've actually seen more than enough of Janney's previous stuff to be exceptionally wary. Once bitten twice shy so they say! As for CD I can see his point's as well. However, let's not play saint here or be selective about others choices guys! We have all seen CD himself trash stuff he feels to be dubious with all but his Zeus like gaze! Look at all the bollocks Phil Nelson got. He bloody deserved it of course, as have others pushing a whole heap of B.S.

The trouble is despite my own CD like doggedness. I do accept whole heartedly that we all aren't going to agree on everything all the time. Some issues I am full on about and some I am not so. I'd like to think that when CD is finished cracking skulls he can relate to this. Janney is a case in point rather obviously that ignites some deep passions. Dawn and CD the point I was trying to make in all of this (a point I failed miserably at in the first attempt-I had no idea my usually crap grammar was so poor) is that due to my own struggles with Janney's work I trust Jim and Lisa's observations on this issue. That is simply my opinion of Janney's work. Hey they may well be wrong! Further my opinion may change when I get a chance to have a longer look one day, or it might not.

CD bud, Lisa and Jim never said to me 'our way of the highway' lol and I am a little embarrassed my post came across like that.

But saying someone lacks 'deep political insight' because of a difference of opinion as you are apt to do is pretty on the nose. I don't think anything less of you're take on things for disagreeing with myself on the issue of say a Janney. I just prefer to play very safe in this whole thing. You of course may be more adventurous. But thats your outlook and though I am wary I enjoy my doses of Drago!

Seamus: I was not TELLING you to read anything. Or even suggesting. I was merely asking if you intended to read a work before critically commenting.
And speaking of poor grammar the above should be " 'your' take on things". "You're" is short for "you are". Basic grade three grammar old chap. I think proper grammar is useful if one is going to be a writer. I know, how narrow minded of me.:rocker:

Oh we didn't have grades here lol. In my defence I recently looked around for the most commonly screwed words. Yours/You'res is definitely one of them. I'm not alone either, I know a ton of people my age that don't include the 're at the end in the appropriate place. Recently Dawn I have been making attempts to use the 're more. You caught me on that one you party pooper. What hasn't helped me in the posting front, is that I am invariably thinking quicker than I type. Maybe this live action thing is making me jittery lol? I leave the page thinking heck that came out well, I come back and its like 'Oh shit'. For my essay writing lol! Thank god I have more time to go over stuff with an essay. Thank the lord the content is usually good. I have some great editors so that's superb. Dawn if you ever have the time, please feel free to glance over any draft of mine. I can always use another eagle eye! Believe it or not guys I was an ace speller when I was a kid. Where did all that go?

You've lost your incentive now that you don't get an elephant stamp any more? Confusedhutup:
