Heres a link to NBC News regarding the ceremony in Dallas for the 50th. The most interesting thing I took away from it was that there will be tickets needed to access Dealey Plaza. I'm most curious how & who gets the tickets.

I have an article coming out on this which connects the dots between:
1. City Hall
2. Sixth Floor
3. Dallas Morning News
4. Belo Corporation
5. Peggy Segura and the restoration project
Unless we file a lawsuit, I really do think its over. They have planned and executed a preemptive strike which has secured prior restraint on first amendment rights for the 50th on our side.

You may be right Jim. It may take a lawsuit. Prior restraint has never been upheld. However I think if as many people possible just show up it will present a problem for them. Are they going to arrest everyone?
However we need to get this sorted out and settled well in advance. Being arrested for criminal tresspass is not a huge deal but coming back for a trial is, who has the time and expense for that? Of course if everyone set his or her case for a jury trial that would be disaster for the courts. I suspect the cases would get dismissed. Bastards, all of them. Evil.

When you see that article, you will understand how the Power ELite in Dallas organized and coaxed this new mayor into doing this along with the Sixth Floor.
But there is some bleed over since The Sixth Floor IS the Power Elite in Dallas.
And they were bound and determined not to let anyone show them up.
Months ago I told several people that from what I could discern, this was their intent. And I also added that in my opinion, even though I am not an attorney, I thought this was clearly an attempt at prior restraint in order to deprive us of our first amendment rights of freedom to assemble and freedom of speech.
Its pretty obvious now that this is what they had in mind for a long time.
In doing this article I discovered that when the Sixth Floor took out the permit, they were really acting with permission and encouragement of City Hall. That is why the extraordinary week long permit was granted. Who the heck ever gets a permit that long?
And as Dawn notes, if we decide to try for a demonstration, we will be violating that permit. And therefore, as with Groden, we can be arrested. And probably will be. As she also notes, the only way out of that is if enough people insist on being arrested. THat could create just what they don't want to see: a massive civil liberties protest.
OTOH, I really don't think this would stand in a court of law since it clearly is aimed at prior restraint. Which is just about an indefensible position.
WHat I think would happen in that case is a settlement could be arranged. THey would give us the plaza for example, the night before for say three hours.
I would probably be willing to accept that at this point.

Actually, except for the guy on before me, it was not bad at all.
The host actually read a large part of my book in advance. And he asked questions based upon that reading. Which almost never happens on a big show like that.

What else, then, should we be willing to accept from those who would control memory and strip us of our greatest weapon -- truth delivered as dramaturgy?
And what exactly is the JFK Lancer role in all this? To the best of your ability to know, Jim?

1. Charles, if you want to get arrested and carted off in a paddy wagon to sit in a jail cell for several hours, fine. That might get a few blips on CNN. But besides that, what would it accomplish except being an arrest on your record. And then what happens if you do not return for trial? An outstanding warrant for whenever you get back to Texas.
I am willing to do that. If there is no other alternative. I go to Texas each year. I have not seen you there in a long time. Will you be willing to show up and do that?
If there is an alternative, like a settlement, then I would surely consider it. IF you recall some guy once said: "Never negotiate out of fear, but never fear to negotiate."
2. To my knowledge, Lancer has no role in this at all. Hancock, Wexler, Fiester and Conway are not part of the Power Elite in Dallas. In fact, half of them don't even live there.

We all want to know this. But I do not expect the answer to be forthcoming.
