I am already intrigued. Media's job is to mediate some stuff and prevent the mediation of other stuff. Few people understood that better than C.D. Jackson. Imagine it 's October 3rd 1964, Your having a phone conversation with your sister on the other side of the country, you say "Its plain as day in #6!" Long conversations can be scrambled from the beginning which , one could argue, may have been C.D.s intention by creating the alteration debate to begin with, no matter your opinion on the contraversy.

One suggestion, and again I haven't even begun to mull the ramifications of this, is for newbies send along a thread on the background of C.D. jackson along with this thread.

More generally connecting this thread with the 50th I think that any aspect that involves Media and the MEDIAtion of the assassination will have bonus points as far as generating greater, wider interest because when you point out media contingencies you are talking the real politics of right now, and more and more people are aware of that, even if the sense of HOW media is real power might be very fuzzy. In short,

Media variables in the assassination equation must be presented front and center because the essence of all history and politics is the credibility of narration.

In this regard, C.D. Jackson--although he might have proven the greatest hindrance to assassination consensus-- might also be our best ad campaign.

Mr Kelin,
I make no claims to being computer literate, but I was unable to view the link on my default browser so I switched to my alternate Google Chrome, and it worked fine. pcguru
