James H. Fetzer Wrote:Myra, They probably did not want to risk being shot--or making themselves more conspicuous and drawing attention. Who would have believed that anyone would be discussing these things in such minute detail nearly fifty years after the assassination? Jim
Good point Jim. Getting caught in the crossfire was a genuine risk, as James Tague discovered.

I guess Chauncey's eagerness to convince people that he was the old tramp is a red flag for me. I tend to believe the opposite of what spooks say.
Thanks, Myra. Give us your opinion of this.
Jack
I'm torn Jack because both Holt and Hunt so closely resemble the old tramp. Plus I have a high opinion of Lois Gibson's skills and she goes with Holt.
But I'm strongly leaning towards Hunt for a number of reasons. He does look more like the old tramp than Holt, who has a slightly more masculine less droopy face. Hunt's chin is a better match. Hunt favored disguises and the old tramp is really the only one wearing a disguise. And of course he liked hats and is the only one in a hat. Also didn't Mark Lane convince a jury that Hunt was in Dallas 11/21/63--the day before the assassination? A jury places him near the scene of the crime. Furthermore, since Hunt was involved in Watergate and since Watergate likely had a Dallas cover-up component, there's a link there albeit a tenuous one.

Consider that the Holt photo is 1990s and the Hunt photo is 1960s...
and consider that Holt appears YOUNGER in 1990 than the tramp
did in 1960s.
As for Gibson...her studies are NWAS.
Look at the comparison she used to decide that Rogers was Frenchy!

NWAS? What's NWAS?
Oh! I figured it out!
...Ew. You really think she's that bad?
What about her assessment of Charles Harrelson? I thought she nailed that one.
The key paragraph reads, "In the Altgens picture showing the limousine
turning onto Houston Street, standing close to the man resembling Mr.
Hemming, is someone who looked like Lucien Conein.
Photos: A face in the crowd; L. Conein; L. Conein in 1963; Composite
When we wrote to Col. Prouty about this, he responded [42], ". . . I
noted this same photo you have found and the likeness between that
person and Lou . . . I'd say that the guy is Conein." Although later in
the letter he stated, "I make no solid claim for Conein in the Dealey
Plaza picture," he went on to say, "but I do know that many of the
Vietnam-trained, Mongoose inner circle were there."
So I suppose you could say that he made an identification of Mainman
as Lucien Conein, but qualified it as "non-solid" or tentative and fallible.
I take that to mean that he thinks that it is Conein as his first response,
but he is wants to acknowledge that, in this case, he could be mistaken.
[42] L. Fletcher Prouty, written communication, May 7, 1996
My take is that he identified Mainmain as Conein, but then qualified it.
Since Jack has demonstrated multiple respects in which Adams is NOT
a "dead ringer" for Mainman, it is simply abusive for Allan to make that
claim here. He has not even discussed, much less rebutted, Jack's proofs.
Isn't it interesting that Dr. Fetzer labels me "abusive," after his ad hominem attacks on me here? I have stated that I do not agree with Jack's analysis and that to say more would be to repeat myself.
For those looking over our shoulders and wondering why Dr. Fetzer is so upset about my sharing new information on the Conein look-alike -- yes, even after over 40 years new information can be useful -- you may find this interesting:
Dr. Fetzer made the claim, "Altgens photographs Lucien Conein in Dealey Plaza, smiling as JFK passed by." He over-reached himself then, just as he over-reaches himself now in his nastiness.
James Richards has been mentioned on this thread for his excellent follow-up on work on familiar faces in Dealey Plaza. With his permission I quote his reaction to the new information on Robert Adams at:
Thanks for these Bernice. He looks like both Bush and Novel...but I am just not good at this. Too many nuances. When I first saw these pics I was convinced it was Bush. I don't think we need the id's of those in Dealey Plaza to prove conspiracy absoultely. We have more than ample evidence. Of course it would be great to know exactly who was there but, as this thread has shown, it also seems to be an exercise in spinnng one's wheels.
As technology improves there will come a time when identifications will be made.
