This is very different from the standard meaning of "Manchurian Candidate" as, effectively, a programmed assassin.
Why yes it is. Mistakes happen. Ever play operator? Same concept. Condon invented the term and discovered Vonsiatsky, so I go with his definition. Russell's informant also discusses The Manchurian Candidate, Russian Roulette, and its possible influence of the JFK hit.
"Was there a robot killer? (singular)" he asked.
Yes, Robert Emmett Johnson started as a "robot killer" and was a JFK sniper. End of argument. And Lee Harvey (Lee Harvey Oswald, not "Lee Harvey", the actor in ManCand)
Yes thee were many of these robot killers. He did not ask if there was "'A' Manchurian Candidate killer" he asked if there was 'a' "robot killer." Maybe he meant a "Rebet" killer as in Bogdhan Stashinsky who was a "robot killer" who killed "Lev Rebet" with a Stashinsky Gun. So Stashinsky, therefore was a "robot Rebet killer".
