Magda & Bernice,
In At The Door Of Memory (Aubrey Rike with Colin McSween, 2008, p. 141-142), Rike mentions that the O'Neal's ambulance switchboard had received a bunch of calls for ambulances to respond to bogus emergencies in various places around downtown Dallas in the days leading up to President Kennedy's visit. He further mentions that it has been suggested that the purpose of these calls may have been to determine the ambulances' response times to those various locations.
