OK - for starters remember the material on Underwager and Paedika here. This reveals an agenda to "normalize" the activity of adults having sex with children, and of influential forces creating pseudo-scientific edifices which ultimately cover up trauma and horror.
Child abuse is a grossly underinvestigated and underprosecuted crime.
The proportion of police resources devoted to a shoplifter who steals a sandwich, or a four pack of beer, dwarfs the police resources dedicated to bringing organised child abuse rings to justice.
The history of child abuse by religious organs such as the Catholic Church reveals clear collusion between State and Church to silence and marginalize the abused, and protect the abusers.
A lust for abusing children appears to be a routine trait in many powerful figures such as politicians and businessmen. These figures are "squared" (a phrase I use very deliberately) by the provision of children (often street children or orphans) and once the abuse has occurred, these figures are controllable through blackmail threats.
Very senior figures arrived at NATO, the IMF, and the EU after allegations of child abuse surfaced in their home countries. These figures were not prosecuted. Rather they became key apparatchiks in international institutions.

At the superficial level, the phrase "child porn" is simply part of MSM's move to simplify, sexify and trivialize important issues in the supposed cause of "greater public understanding". However, it is also one of those occasions where language has real resonance and meaning.
Hardcore adult pornography is now routinely viewed by adult males across the world, including MSM editors. The use of the phrase "porn" rather than "pornography" renders it less deviant, more normal - it strokes and reassures the male half of MSM's audience.
Now, if (and it's an important if) adults are genuinely consenting and paid to be filmed having sex, then it's a perfectly legitimate means of making one's way through a material world. I get fucked by multinationals and bankers every hour of every day, and don't get paid a dime for it.....
So, I don't have a particular problem with the shortening of the word "pornography" to "porn" in the adult context.
However, by law and by common sense, children cannot consent to sex, and thus an adult having sex with a child is abusing that child. There is no such thing as "child porn". There is only imagery of child abuse.
If, at the superficial level, the phrase "child porn" represents lazy thinking, at the deeper level it perfectly symbolizes society's refusal to treat child abuse as serious crime requiring robust investigation and draconian punishment.
A low level street drug dealer can make three trivial deals and get a life sentence. A convicted child rapist is routinely allowed back onto the streets and housed in a poor area where children play unsupervized.
The research clearly shows that a child who is raped is a child who is not just physically damaged, but very often psychologically traumatized for the rest of their lives. So much so that, very sadly, some abused children become abusers themselves.
The phrase "child porn" has become part of the dominant culture's deliberate downplaying and suppression of the horrific realities of child abuse.
