The Bowers story should be told straight as the witnessing of the assassins that it was. Bowers told people that he lost the tip of his finger from a girl diving in to a pool and pinching his finger against the side of the pool. This is a flimsy story that no parent would believe if their child told it. Bowers obviously had his finger smashed in a door or vise in order to send a message of the conspirators' seriousness. Both Ed Hoffman and Bowers just flat out straight witnessed the shooters. It's time the story be told that way.
