John has already speculated on the nature of the training of kamikaze pilots.
This is certainly worth further investigation, particularly with regard to the nature of how the psyche was "prepared" for a terminal mission.
This is the only kind of kamikaze "training" that makes any sense to me, stimulants to be used along with the Shinto ceremony for people who were consciously laying down their lives for their country. "Late in the war" also makes sense, because the initial volunteers for suicide missions would be quickly used up and later volunteers or recruit might be less willing. Did Uncle Vanya spin a tale here, turning a modest benzadrine factory into a full-fledged central mind control nexus?
