7.3 Earthquake Off Japan Coast; Tsunami Warning for Fukushima

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting a 7.3 magnitude earthquake off the coast off Japan early Friday afternoon.
According to the Weather Channel, Japanese authorities have issued a tsunami advisory for Fukushima Prefecture, expecting a 3-foot tsunami by 1:40pm ET.

However, Reuters reports that the "U.S. Pacific tsunami warning center said there was no destructive widespread tsunami threat following the quake."

Its on the other side of Japan from Fukashima....so don't think this will have much of an effect; however, Japan is VERY seismically active and it is only a matter of time before Fukashima has another major earthquake! It doesn't even need another to rate as the most dangerous human/radioactive incident....they predict that it will take at least 30 years to 'bury' all the reactors and their radioactive fuel rods...in that time there likely will be major earthquakes and even if not, any slight misstep handling the fuel rods would likely trigger a partial meltdown and/or HUGE radioactive release.

The whole world dodges another bullet every time a major earthquake happens near Fukushima and the spent fuel pools don't collapse.
