Sean Murphy's research deserves more
Very intrigued to see if I could find Prayerman in Towner...

Can't tell if this is artifact or enhancement.. but I don't know what he was referring to in terms of the spliced doorway....

thoughts?

Roy Schaeffer, again like Sprague does make questionable claims but he makes various mentions of Oswald in the doorway. 1990

That letter is full of mistakes. I think it mistakes another film for Towner. That isolated photo of Lovelady on the right lower steps is from much later than Towner. Schaeffer makes a bunch of mistakes. In Altgens Lovelady was more towards the center railing, as was shown by one of the films taken from the motorcade. Lovelady appeared to be on the left side in Altgens due to perspective.

Schaeffer says Oswald's shirt is open due to missing buttons. I don't know what he is referring to since you can't see any Oswald's in any of the evidence he presents. But more importantly, Oswald's buttons weren't torn off until the Texas Theater over an hour later.

Sorry, Schaeffer's claim is based on dark holes, strong imagination, and mistaking photographs and their sources. I think he's referring to Altgens and using a wrong comparison to determine he is Oswald.

Again you are missing the point, and I am not going to explain this any further.

Bart Kamp Wrote:The only claim I have made in that post is that the mention of Oswald and Lovelady together on the front steps of the TSBD was already made in 1967, nothing more.

On the Education Forum you are openly calling Prayer Man Oswald.

No need to be cryptic Bart.

What is the point? That a man who makes serious reference mistakes in 1990 thinks Prayer Man is Oswald?

I don't think Prayer Man's left elbow is the radiator. If you analyze the blow-up a line drawn across the glass frame from Prayer Man's left elbow creates a rough square in the frame. Photos of the entrance show a line drawn across the glass frame from the top of the radiator is obviously well below that. Also if Prayer Man had his arms crossed his left elbow would be held at an awkward upward angle.

There are obviously some people who are desperate to place Oswald on the front steps as Prayer Man. These people forget to mention that Carolyn Arnold saw Oswald around 12:24 as she told Earl Golz:

Earl Golz Interviews Carolyn Arnold

In an interview with the journalist Earl Golz in 1978, Carolyn Arnold claimed that "she saw Oswald in the 2ndfloor lunchroom as she was on her way out of the depository to watch the presidential motorcade …. She left the building at 12:25pm." (Earl Golz, Was Oswald in Window?,' Dallas Morning News, 26 November 1978, p.13A; available as PDF).
Golz quotes her as saying that Oswald "was sitting there … in one of the booth seats on the righthand side of the room as you go in. He was alone as usual and appeared to be having lunch. I did not speak to him but I recognized him clearly." She explicitly denied that her sighting of Oswald took place near the front doors: "Why would I be looking back inside the building? That doesn't make any sense to me."

The site is grabbing the text font from my insert. Anyway, what Ms Arnold's statement, that these Oswald as Prayer Man proponents are ignoring, shows is that Oswald was eating lunch in the 2nd floor lunch room. This means Fritz's notes can be interpreted as saying Oswald ate lunch in the 2nd floor lunch room, then went down to the 1st floor employee room, and then went 'out' of the building where he saw Shelly out front on the steps.

What Oswald as Prayer Man proponents are ignoring is Carolyn Arnold reasonably saw Oswald at 12:24. Since Baker claimed he saw Oswald at 12:31:30 it makes it very likely Oswald was sitting there, where he was comfortably settled in for lunch, from 12:24 to 12:31:30.

If you look at detective science, in a very remote area where there was only one witness we have a very highly defined witnessing with rational evidence behind it. What Oswald as Prayer Man proponents are asking you to believe is that Oswald was standing in the Times Square of the assassination with dozens of witnesses and not one single person stepped up and identified him, even though detective science would show that his exposure rate was exponentially higher on the front steps. Science prevails here and the simple fact holds that Oswald was identified and witnessed where he was in the lunch room and was not identified where he wasn't, on the front steps.

Over on the Education Forum Duncan MacRae is showing a blow-up of Prayer Man that allegedly shows overcoat buttons down the front of Prayer Man's coat. I've never seen those buttons before on any blow-up so I wonder why they're showing up now? In any case, if they are real they prove Prayer Man is not Oswald since Oswald was not wearing any long button down overcoat that day. I pretty much knew Prayer Man wasn't Oswald already anyway, but this proves it (If it's true).

Also, if true, it proves Prayer Man is not standing with arms crossed because the buttons are facing Frazier which means Prayer Man is facing sideways.
