In the late 1950s the CIA conducted experiments on children. One of them had the aim of recruiting them as agents or assets in the future. While these experiments were too late for Oswald, who was by then in the Soviet Union, could there have been other experiments earlier on, where young teenage boys were recruited by the Agency with the aim of merging their identities at a later date and sending one of them to the USSR as a spy.
The excerpt below, which describes one of these experiments, is from The C.I.A. Doctors Human Rights Violations by American Doctors by Colin A. Ross M.D.. On pages 62-63 Ross writes about MK-Ultra Subproject 103:
"Subproject 103 was conducted by Robert Cormack and A.B. Kristofferson at the Children's International Summer Villages Inc., in Maine. The subjects were 16 to 21 years of age and were there for a reunion; all had attended the camp in previous years as 11 year olds. The academic purpose of the project was to study how children communicate when they do not share a common language. The CIA was interested in the project as cover for establishing relationships with children from a variety of countries. Obviously, the intent was to recruit them as agents or assets. A MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD from the Subproject 103 documents dated 10 December 1959 states that: It is felt that this project will support the [whited out] need for cover. In addition it will assist in the identification of promising young foreign nationals and U.S. nationals (many of whom are now in their late teens) who may at anytime be of direct interest to the Agency...No cleared or witting persons are concerned with the conduct of this project."
Many people don't know that Dr. Jeffrey Caufield (in General Walker....) feels strongly that Lee Harvey Oswald was recruited as a 15-year-old as a kind of "sleeper" agent. Caufield thinks that local New Orleans right-wing extremists were grooming Oswald to enter the Marine Corps and/or travel to the USSR to build up his credentials as a Communist. Then he would return (as actually happened) to infiltrate the Civil Rights movement and tar that movement with the taint of Communism.
Lending credence to the above theory is the fact that Oswald's cousin was a Jesuit priest of some sort. Those types are typically involved in unconventional spying activities, blending their activities with religious-type involvements so as to make them indistinguishable. This type of family connection would be way more likely than just having a 15-year-old youngster turned over to the intel community at age 15.
That, in my opinion, would be "abuse and neglect" with respect to such a minor child. That is not consistent with Oswald's mother's genuine concern for all her three sons, nor with most of her sons' sincere efforts to be good citizens and good Marines.
Hence it would be very significant if it were proven that the CIA would "put money" on teenagers as future spies.
Personally, I tend to doubt the wisdom in the minds of the intel people who would try this---"Never send a boy to do a man's job" is the well-worn cliche relevant to this issue.
James.... If training began at 15... by the time this 20/21 year old goes Russia he is actually an asset in position to do a "real man's job" with an even greater sense of "under cover".
I agree with you assessment of Oswald's role after 1962... and in reality he returns from Russia with more detailed information about entities for which Military Intelligence had little to no info.

I have a few images for you to take a gander.... if you can explain how these two people are the same..., please do...

#1 - a 5'4" 115lb 6th grader in 1951 becomes a 4'10" 90lb 8th grader to be in August 1953
#2 the 17 year old LEE entering the Marines on the right... and August 1963 arrest photo
How are these the same man/boy?
and finally #3
Explain how a 5'10" 160+ lb MAN at the top right... becomes the little 5'7" - 5'9" 135lb man whom Ruby shots....

Over the years, there has been stuff posted here at DPF of training of children and teens as spies. IMO, I think Obama was one such individual. The story goes that his mother was a CIA asset and turned him over to the CIA as she was dying of cancer.
