Dawn Meredith's 2013 COPA Address

Albert Doyle Wrote:I'm surprised no one asks if Clarence Rector was ever interviewed over what Jack Ruby called him about?

The FBI did interview him in 1963, this fact was revealed in the HSCA report. Mr. Rector travelled to Cuba during 1959 (just like Ruby), and furthermore went to Ruby's Carousel Club upon his return from Cuba. But that's all the detail we get on him. It's curious that the HSCA wasn't more interested in Rector. And I don't know if the report on that interview has been declassified or not.

Drew Phipps Wrote:You guys don't think that Roberts could have actually correctly remembered how many cops she saw in the car? (Two, not one) She wasn't good with numbers, true. If she was correct, and saw two "uniformed officers" in "car 107," aren't those 2 individuals logical candidates to be "plotters" using an authentic ex-cop car and authentic appearing uniforms and demonstrating advance knowledge of certain pertinent facts? Especially since we have 2 mystery cops that stop and board the bus LHO was riding...and then fail to make a report of their actions?

Yes, that certainly seems possible, but isn't it also possible that Roberts remembered the first two digits of the squad car's number correctly and then incorrectly added a third? She was obviously having trouble with the number. And isn't it also possible that a second cop was with Tippit briefly? If Tippit was playing a pivotal role here (beyond being a victim) he would need to get instructions in some VERY secure way. Just brainstorming.... and I'm getting tired. <g> It has been a fascinating discussion, though.

There were allegedly no Oswald fingerprints found on Tippit's car. That may or may not mean anything.

Did Armstrong cover the Ralph Yates witnessing?

FBI quotes Dempsey Jones as saying "window shades" instead of "curtain rods" but they are so close that they are good enough proof of the curtain rod story being formulated 2 days before the assassination. Maybe Jones said curtain rods and FBI did one of their suddenly changing testimony jobs.

Armstrong should have continued to explain that FBI institutionalized Ralph Yates because they said Oswald was at the Depository working at the time of this sighting. If Armstrong was trying to show evidence of 2 Oswalds he should have shown Harvey was at work in the Depository while Lee was setting him up with Yates. FBI killed Yates because they were desperate to hide something.
