Police announced that they identified the attackers as two brothers from the Paris area and one 18 year old man from Marseilles.
Brothers? I heard this theme before, in Boston.
update: Police and anti-terror magistrates reportedly identified the three assailants, two of whom are brothers, reports The Telegraph's Henry Samuel. The two brothers, born in Paris' 10th arrondissement are French nationals called Saïd and Cherif Kouachi, aged 34 and 32.
Cherif was reportedly part of an Iraqi jihadi network dismantled in the nearby 19th arrondissement of Paris. He was sentenced to three years in prison with 18 months suspended in relation to terror charges in May 2008.
The two brothers are Franco-Algerians who came back from Syria this summer.
Hamyd Mourad, 18, is of no fixed abode. Last year, he reportedly was enrolled in a lycée in Charleville-Mezières around 50 miles from the Champagne capital of Reims, northeastern France. Police were reportedly hunting for him in Reims last night. The nationality of the youngest is unknown.
Their identity cards were circulating widely on Twitter last night. From telegraph.co.uk.
The most relevant literature regarding what happened since September 11, 2001 is George Orwell's "1984".

Too early to tell, IMHO. Possible, but my feeling is that in this case it is unlikely. More likely the intolerance of fundamentalists. All fundamentalist religious and political zealots - no matter their religion or nation - are dangerously intolerant and opposed to free speech and liberties of those with other views/beliefs/systems. I still feel that in many ways, however, this is blowback for the crimes of big nations past and ongoing. The Koucahciii brothers have been named by the French Police. No way to know if they are indeed two of the three....but I think this will not take long to know more. I was watching the videos and whoever they were were highly trained. The planning that went into the attack shows this also. No detail was neglected - it was not just a lucky attack. I don't rule out a false-flag attack entirely, just don't yet see that. Certainly France and Europe have seen other false-flag Gladio attacks.

The younger one has handed himself in and has a supported alibi of him being in school at the time. This is conformed by some media sources also.

I believe that is not one of the brothers, but the third person named.

That's right.

Here in the Czech Republic some ultra-right neonazis have called for the government to stop all Muslims from entering the country, and suggested plans to take pigs and 'walk' them outside of the few mosques here. There is hate and intolerance on all sides, and it is only getting worse.

Marine LePen is milking it for all its worth. Some shockingly anti-Muslim statements on the net #killallmuslims etc. Thankfully not all people are like that. Funny thing about the pig walking Czech guy is that his family is from Japan....

Another shooting in Paris just moments ago - this one from a car in the 14 Arrondisemont at two police officers. One officer has died. Shooter has escaped.

The names of the brothers comes from an ID left in the escape vehicle. With such a well-planned attack, it is hard to imagine such a mistake would be made. I'm just wondering out loud if the 'left' ID is a false trail. I also tend to think that the latest shooting is connected in some way. It looks like Paris and France have some difficult times ahead!
It is always amazing that small killings [one, ten, etc.] by non-state actors are pursued and usually prosecuted, while big killings [wars, covert ops, drone strikes, bombings by state actors and intel agencies and their proxies] go with those who instigated and carried them out left untouched in almost all cases. Both are crimes, and both types need to be brought to justice and stopped..
