Question not necessarily directed to you, but would 'McCord' be James McCord of Watergate fame? Does anyone know if he ever held the position 'Deputy Director Security' in the CIA? I know you may not be free to reveal the source, but approximately when did the source acquire it?

Might it be Thomas F. McCord? Just a thought.

Interesting to read, "In 1973, he became the Chief, Security Branch, and later the Assistant DeputyDirector, Office of Counterintelligence and Security" I would assume he was Chief, Security Branch, meaning his local branch, like station chief. In charge of that region. He was also Assistant Deputy Director, Office of Counterintelligence for Army Intelligence just as this document indicates regarding my father when the FBI did an inquiry to the CIA. The CIA said to query Army Intelligence because they, the [CIA] had limited information on my father, well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the CIA had more information on my father then they were letting on, or does it take a rocket scientist to figure this one out?

Given the informative link you shared, Thomas F. McCord is certainly someone well versed in intelligence (not to mention his expertise also with the Russian language). Where I couldn't say with any certainty that he crossed paths with the Oswald of legend (the "defector"), Colonel McCord does have all the trimmings for a shrewd intelligence operative lurking in the shadows. The issue with these intelligence types, especially those with military cover, is they rarely--if ever--leave any fingerprints.

I can't see why anyone would think I would ever duck a question about my father, I do not live a life of secrecy, nor do I pretend to. I knew Frank well, that is if you're speaking of Sturgis, he was very close to our family, that is, until my father [Ed] aka [Edwin] turned on him, [Frank]. Enjoy your day as well, cheers!
