Frank Olson Murder
#11
o.k. This book is impossible to put down. Cancel appointments if it is possible to do so and remain employed.-----

This book is incredible!!! It really shows like nothing else I have seen before how CENTRAL the MKULTRA Bluebird, Artichoke stuff was. I am continuously amazed at how VIRTUALLY ALL the key players of CIA then and later during JFK assassination were in some way or another involved in these 3 programs from at the latest 1953. It really repositions these programs in terms of ones schema of CIA history, because it shows that the idea of compartmentalization, can obscure as much as reveal: your Kirkpatrick's might know one angle of a program and your Edwards' might know another, but they both knew important stuff very very early. Given the latter's role along with Houston in later "investigations" of the CIA, it is impossible for the readers new gleaning about the MKULTRA part not to affect his her view of the whole of CIA's later history.

In short this book is a game-changer for even well read readers on this topic. I recommend people get this book now. Never has such a specific book been so general in its ramifications.

Holly Crap! Frank Olson was in Germany working for Operation Paperclip directly recruiting silly Nazis who had a psychological research- "truth drug" background. One of his colleagues on the trip was a guy named George Shaw Wheeler who could not handle the spy chaos of central Europe in the early 50s and defected to the communists and sang to the Czech gov. Both Olson and Wheeler were either directly or indirectly involved in Project Paperclip "Frank had not told his father -in-law he had met Wheeler in late-Winter 1950, as part of one of his early SOD assignments: interviewing and assessina a number of former Nazi biochemists for possible work at Edgewater Arsenal in Maryland" A Terrible Mistake p. 175.

Very interesting on a few levels. Mr. Albarelli I'm in exile in the Czech Republic and frequent the old secret police archives, at times. Need anything looked up? [feel free to contact me privately] I guess this is a book I must get too. I've LONG thought that the programs mentioned were CENTRAL to much of the evil we have witnesses within the National Security State and that key suspected 'players' on all levels of the events of Dallas [and other capers] were involved in those programs. Mr. Albarelli, have you seen the film The Anthrax Wars and if so, what did you think?

Mockingbird perch Time Mag. Said this about him: Foreign News: At Home Monday, Apr. 17, 1950
Tacoma-born George Shaw Wheeler, 41, his wife and four children, got to Czechoslovakia just before the Communist coup of February 1948. A U.S. Government employee since 1934 (NLRB, Department of Labor, War Production Board), Wheeler had served in a moderately important job with the U.S. Military Government in Germany. After two years and several loyalty investigations, he was fired in an economy drive. Wheeler went to Prague, got a job teaching economics in Charles University, wrote articles for the small Wallaceite National Guardian.

Last week Wheeler called a press conference, denounced the U.S. for the Marshall Plan, the Atlantic pact and "Wall Street cartelization." To the delighted Czech press he announced that he would formally ask for asylum in Czechoslovakia, where he had "got to know the real democracy."

This book is taking off! Has jumped inside top 3,000 and this is one people can't stop talking about. No limit on this one.

Start reading now if you have not already. Important to be able to discuss this one when lots of others will be reading it. Just saying.

We truly might be looking at a Renaissance in Cold War studies. IMO our most important goal is to not lose site of National Security State history and its constant connection to US history and not "conspiracy theory," as it is so expensively never defined.

This moating of the Assassination from the rest of US and global history is the number one goal of the disinformation campaign. For they know that at least as important as what is said is who is listening and also that there are well known ways of digging firewalls in the political spectrum. That's what psy ops was about and Nelson wove the wainscoting between 1953 and 56, when ears were set in stone. Of course C. D. Jackson was throwing in the Bullpen.

This is great news. I've got my copy. I just need more than 24 hours a day to get things done.

A very good point.

The author is scheduled to be on The Real Deal, Prof. Fetzer's radio show, on march 15th. Good Way to get an overview of this book.
