Thank you for posting this fascinating set of photos of LHO in the Soviet Union. Of all of the photos on this thread, I believe that one that most closely resembles the "real" Oswald is that handsome young man with the camera who appears as the "Member" photo of Jack White! (Just kidding!!!)

All jokes aside, it is important to remain skeptical of ALL of the photos from the Soviet Union as genuine evidence. Remember that ridiculous photo of Marina, Lee, and the baby, in which the infant was clearly a rag doll or toy baby????

Although I read carefully the various responses in this thread, I could not find any reference to the most important point resulting from John Armstrong's interviews with the Ziger sisters: Ana Ziger's testimony that during his stay in the Soviet Union, Oswald spoke no Russian. Here is the description from p. 287 of "Harvey and Lee":

"According to Ana, the main reason her family was never able to learn much about Oswald was his unwillingness to learn or speak Russian. After hearing Ana's comment I was confused, and asked her how well Oswald spoke Russian when she knew him in Minsk. Ana replied, without hesitating, 'he didn't speak any Russian." (p. 287)

From this interview, we have compelling evidence that the man who spent nearly two years in the Soviet Union kept up the pretense that he could not speak Russian. Whether or not there was another Oswald "substitution" is a moot point. The new revelation (not posited in any Oswald studies prior to Armstrong) is that the profile of the Oswald residing in Minsk is clearly that of an American defector withholding his language skills in Russian, yet keenly observing and listening for information that may help to win the Cold War.

Ana Ziger and her family were in regular contact with Oswald virtually from the moment he arrived in Minsk until Lee and Marina departed for the United States. When John Armstrong asked her again about whether Oswald spoke Russian, Ana's response was: "No--not a word" (p. 239).

In this interview, Ana Ziger might prove to be one of the most important "eyewitnesses" in the JFK assassination.

Is there any chance that the Ziger interview may be posted on You Tube or placed in the Baylor University archive?

All of John's materials will eventually be at Baylor, even the
materials which were not used in the book. It is a very slow process.

I find it most disturbing that Judyth is "scoffing" at false defector programs. I take it this is at the other forum? I don't see JIm Fetzer jumping in here to defend THAT innane position.

For the first time I am beginning to have doubts about Judyth. She should stick to what she knows or risk continued ridicule.
