Police find body in bag at MI6 man's London flat
#1
Police searching the home of a missing MI6 worker in central London have found the body of a man in a bag.

The discovery was made at a top-floor flat in Alderney Street, Pimlico, on Monday afternoon.

Officers went to the address following reports that the occupant had not been seen for some time. It is thought the body had been there for several days.

Scotland Yard's Homicide and Serious Crime Command has launched a murder investigation.

A post-mortem examination is to due to be carried out on Wednesday morning to try to establish the cause of death.

Police have not yet been able to to identify the body but said the murdered man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was white and aged in his 30s.

The headquarters of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) is just a few hundred yards from the flat.

...just another normal day in the world of 'intelligence'.....what an oxymoron. BBC is carrying the story now. I don't expect to hear the truth from the MSM nor MI6, whether it is the man from that apartment (and MI6) found dead, or one of his 'prey' or a set-up.....or some other archane alternative - less so about the motive. 'Intelligence' agencies lie and cover-up just about everything......or we wouldn't be in quite the mess we all find ourselves in now. That said, they are just the muscle and hidden microphones for the Oligarchy - the real vilians in this 'piece' [the Global mess].....

...keep us informed....it is very Sherlock Holmesy

Well, well, well...it was the resident of the flat - hacked to pieces after being stabbed and finally stuffed in a large sports bag...[here comes the clincher!]; but the 'authorities' assure us all that there is no indication that the 'violence' was in any way connected with his occupation or employer.....:marchmellow: :dancing2:

Of course there is nothing very strange for an MI6 man doing top secret communications work to be chopped up in a his own flat and his mobile phone taken apart nearby.......with the doors locked.....all very everyday London. :driver:

Let me guess....they will call it a suicide!!!! Wanna Bet?!:damnmate:

John Millis, chief of staff to Porter Goss, sucked a shotgun in a bathtub at the Breezeway Motel in Alexandria, having called Clinton "the worst president for counterintelligence," and Deutch "the worst DCI."

Deutch compromised 17,000 files on his unsecured home computer logged onto Russian sites. Probably just for the porn.

Gareth Williams may have been evincing stress over economic hard times.

Or was recuperating from a cycling injury. In his bath. In a bag.

Trust. Us. We'll get to the bottom of it. Oh, we already are there.

Same old Kompromat script that They used on Milligan.

All that's missing is the orange in the mouth of the hanging victim.......

Gareth Williams would have seen a lot of things in his time at GCHQ, NSA, MI6 in Kabul. :2in1:

Williams regularly travelled to the United States, where it is understood that he worked at the National Security Agency at Fort Meade in Maryland, the US government's listening post and the largest intelligence agency in the world.

He was sent to MI6's station in Kabul where he is thought to have helped in breaking codes used by the Taliban. Last year he moved on secondment to MI6. He was due to return to GCHQ at the start of next month

So who felt most threatened by what he knew?

Quote:Bondage claims over dead MI6 officer untrue, say police

Officers who found body of Gareth Williams say it was 'a neat job', leading to speculation that it was a professional hit

Sunday 29 August 2010 16.02 BST

Further questions have been raised over the death of an MI6 officer after police confirmed that reports of bondage equipment found at his flat and a "ritualistic" arrangement of his possessions were untrue.

The body of Gareth Williams was found stuffed in a bag in the bath of an MI6 safehouse in Pimlico, south London, a week ago. Reports have said there was evidence of a break-in, and that sim cards containing the numbers of gay escorts were found at the flat, but police who found the body told Channel 4 News it was "a neat job", leading to speculation that Williams was killed in a professional hit.

The police and security services seem to disagree over precisely what led to Williams' death, with Whitehall sources maintaining that his death was "more to do with his private life than his job".

Claims that 31-year-old Williams was secretly gay appear to be wrong, according to the original police dispatch seen by Channel 4. His family claim Williams has been the victim of a smear campaign to deflect attention from his work within the intelligence service. He is thought to have played a role in gathering intelligence as a code-cracker or cipher, and was seconded to MI6 from GCHQ.

Contrary to some reports, three mobile phone sim cards found in the flat were not arranged in a "ritualistic" manner, a Metropolitan police spokesman told the Guardian.

The police confirmed that Williams was last seen on 15 August, eight days before his body was found. Initial reports said he had not been seen for a fortnight. His body was discovered when police were called to check on him after a GCHQ colleague voiced concerns. Police found no mess and no sign of a struggle.

Williams's uncle, William Hughes, said it was possible the government or another agency might be attempting to discredit his nephew by orchestrating a smear campaign. He said Williams's parents, who live on Anglesey, were "very, very angry" about false reports over his private life. He said his nephew's reputation was being destroyed by the "horrible and completely fictitious accounts".

Last week a pathologist was unable to establish a cause of death. Toxicology tests will determine if he was poisoned, or if drugs or alcohol were a factor.

There have been claims that Williams was killed by someone he knew, after reports that thousands of pounds were paid into and withdrawn from his bank account in the days leading up to his death. Police said such reports were "pure speculation".

Williams is known to have been a private man, a mathematical prodigy who studied at Bangor University for a degree at 13, emerging with first-class honours. He later attended St Catharine's College, Cambridge, where he failed to complete his studies and returned to GCHQ, where he joined a contingent of keen cyclists.

He was due to return to GCHQ at the start of next month.

Calvi's murder has clear ritualistic - particularly freemasonic - elements. Whether these were real messages to the cognoscenti, or deliberately fabricated red herrings is impossible to know with absolute certainty.

However, how precisely does a murderer arrange sim cards in a ritualistic fashion?

I think we should be told what this actually means....

Excerpts from right-wing Little Englander rag the Daily Mail:

Quote:In the flat in Alderney Street, a mobile telephone and a collection of SIM cards had been carefully laid out - in what was described as a bizarre ritualistic scene - and officers are researching each number called.

Police said the results of a post-mortem examination were inconclusive.

Toxicology tests have been ordered to see if Mr Williams had been poisoned. Another possibility is that he was smothered or strangled before being bundled into the bag.

But lurid speculation that he had been stabbed or even dismembered was discounted by police source

They said the telephone numbers of escort agencies were found on one SIM card while pornographic material had also been discovered in the flat.

It is not known exactly when Mr Williams was reported missing - but one suggestion is that he had taken some time off and had been due to return to work on Monday.

Officers from Scotland Yard’s Murder Squad, with assistance from their counter-terrorist and security service colleagues, are delving into the private life of Mr Williams, seeking to discover whether he had relationship or money problems.

Another possibility is that he was the victim of a dangerous sex game gone wrong.

Tight security controlled the entrance to the flat, which is just a few hundred yards away from the MI6 headquarters across the Thames at Vauxhall.

Such were the precautions, it is believed, that eye scanners could have been used to gain entry.

Eileen Booth, 73, who lives opposite the flat, said detectives had come round and asked neighbours for their eye colour and height.

Mr Williams, a bachelor who had been subjected to security clearance before he was given the job, was described as a mild-mannered fitness and cycling fanatic dedicated to his work.

He was due to leave London and return early next month to his job at Cheltenham.

Finance worker Gemma Wingfield Digby, 26, who moved into the basement flat of Mr Williams’s building three weeks ago, said: ‘I saw him only once but he was such a sweet guy. All I wanted to do was give him a hug.’

Public documents reveal current and former residents of the freehold block where Mr Williams lived have links to London and Cheltenham

One fear is that an area used by MI6 to house operatives - and where two former senior Tory politicians are neighbours - had now been compromised.

Former MI6 officer Harry Ferguson said: ‘There are lots of flats in this area owned by MI6 and their big worry will be that a terrorist group or intelligence group was involved.’

As Alderney Street remained cordoned off last night and forensic experts continued to search for clues, police were releasing little about the case.

Land Registry documents reveal that the block at number 36 is owned by a private company, New Rodina, whose details are hidden because it is registered in the British Virgin Islands and is not listed with Companies House.

The word rodina means motherland in Russian and Bulgarian. Several other residents were also linked to Cheltenham leading to suggestions the flats may have been used regularly by MI6.

The property was bought for £675,250 in 2000 with a mortgage from the Royal Bank of Scotland and has been remortgaged twice, in September 2005 and February 2006.

The documents show that the owner operated through a law firm known as Park Nelson, a firm which once occupied a rented office block in Bell Yard, off Fleet Street, but no longer appears to exist.

One Frenchman who lived at the flat between 2005 and 2006 is an expert in global satellite positioning, radio communications and high sensitivity antennae.

Smeared by his own side, which has also obstructed a proper investigation, his (very professional) murder denuded of professional significance by its portrayal as a homosexual tiff or thrill kill...what exactly are we looking at?

The obvious hypothesis is that the victim was dispatched by British and/or American masters anxious to draw a line under a particularly black op -for which he ran field comms - that most likely went awry: Interesting to know if any of Williams' visits to Afghanistan coincided with, say, an assassination attempt on Kharzai, or a pseudo-gang operation in the realm of propaganda-by-atrocity. Good and sufficient reason(s) to eliminate the technician; and, doubtless, the special forces team tasked with it.
