Security stripping is one of the elements common to almost all conspiratorial, power-based assaults on targets routinely protected by professional, non-conspiratorial guards.
In our time, JFK, MLK, Diana, and the 9-11 targets were stripped of some/all of their defenses immediately prior to attack. Rabin and Bhuto too, if I'm not mistaken.
Not to mention Michael Corleone.
