Edwin,

I am going from memory, but I seem to recall that at the 2011 JFK Lancer Symposium, Ian Griggs (a retired Scotland Yard detective) announced that he was in the process of writing a book on the Dallas Police Department. I don't recall when he expected it to be completed and published. He is a member of Dealey Plaza UK and can probably be contacted through them.

Ian Griggs book No Case to Answer is available from Lancer it has some excellent stuff on the DPD and it's make up in 1963. Another good little read is Jerry Dealeys Deep in the Heart of Texas. Its a history of Dallas and includes it's police force and the Dallas Citizens Council. Griggsy's book on the DPD will be a must buy. These books should tie you over till then!

Jack Ruby's Girls, by Diana Hunter, published by Hallux in 1970.

Rare, pricey, and of marginal value to all but the most committed researchers and/or bibliophiles.

Walt Brown is sitting on and not letting others see the largest collection of DPD-related research [Jay Harrison's]. He is also former FBI [Brown], which doesn't condem him per se, but does make one want to take his position with some careful consideration. You're all innocent questions here Mr. Ortiz. There is also the DPD archives which there are links to from here somewhere....
"The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways. The point, however, is to change it." Karl Marx

"He would, wouldn't he?" Mandy Rice-Davies. When asked in court whether she knew that Lord Astor had denied having sex with her.

“I think it would be a good idea” Ghandi, when asked about Western Civilisation.

.... Good Day Michael ....
That is correct.... When Ian utilized some of my work for his book "No Case to Answer" (2003), he also promised me a copy of a book he was still in the process of writing detailing the 1963 Dallas police department.

Also, with respect to the DPD....

"JFK: First Day Evidence" by Gary Savage (1993
)
(I have an extra copy available)

"Partners in Blue: 100 Year History of the Dallas Police Department" by Carlton Stowers' (1983)

"Gallery magazine" (July 1979) The issue that contains the 10th-generation (according to Gary Mack) paper-record copy of the Dallas police dictabelt radio channel recording during the shots of the assassination.

"The Murder of Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippit" by Gary Murr (1971)

"Dallas Police Chief Jesse Curry's JFK Assassination File" by 11-22-63 Dallas Police
Chief Jesse Curry (1969) (I have
an extra copy available)

With respect to Dr. Walt Brown, the next time I speak with Walt, I have made a note and will ask him about Harrison.
