Most Lone Nutters either say that it can't ever be determined when Oswald decided to kill JFK, but some narrow it down to after the official announcement of the motorcade route but before Thursday afternoon when he took the wrapping paper to wrap the gun in to bring the work the following morning.
And the motive is in response to being rejected by his wife and taking the opportunity that was presented to him.
It's just that not every guy who is dissed by his wife and has the opportunity to kill the President does so.
