The "Fake" Attempt on JFK's Life: Or, Great Minds Think Alike
#31
Very tenuous I know, but I think the ties between EGLansdale and the "retired" AWDulles and thence to DPhillips and others of the fable making ilk would tend to indicate the capability to create this cover psyop. For other hirelings to execute to be sure.

Fable creating was one of the things EGLansdale did quite well. EHHunt was a writer not a shooter, not denying any other role for him as possible, but he was a fiction writer for the Company and for himself.

Might this question of a faked attempt to kill turned real bear on why the SS destroyed the records of the Dallas trip in the face of the ARRB? Possible? If not complicit to some extent why the on-going obfuscation?

If the plan was to fake an assassination, why would the SS protection need to be compromised? Why would they have to be even involved? All that would be necessary was the planting of an trail leading to Oswald and then to Castro. And then someone imperonating Oswald to take some shots from a window. He wouldn't even have to take the shots, he just needs to be arrested or killed in the building, attempting to. This scenario is what was needed to get Phillips, Hunt and Co. to plant a trail to Oswald and then Castro? I guess I'm just missing something here.

To do for you? To see you through….

For this is all a dream we dreamed one afternoon long ago…"

I only endorsed the possibility. I do see this idea as one that can't be dismissed quickly.

The fake attempt is a possibility. The assets to accomplish the task were at hand we know.

Gordon, what you are saying it would have been valid if they have planned a fake asassination attempt ONLY. Because this fake attempt was only a cover, they needed to relax security to succeed with the real assassination. Palamara have discussed in his "Survivor's Guilt" about the Studies of November that the SS was conducting. The SS would have secured more funds and Personnel if they had succesfully stopped assassinations attempts, like Chicago and Tampa. This does not excludes Charles theory that Chicago and Tampa were used to "protect" the real attempt in Dallas. I believe that Oswald, as part of the Northwoods operation would have been flown or appeared to be flown from Red Bird airport (Wayne January story) to Cuba and then killed. The Mexico incident would have been used as a proof to Cuba's complicity and the US would have bombed Cuba. The conspirators had other plans, never to invade Cuba, but to avoid capture by forcing a cover up to avoid a nuclear catastrophe. Angleton was responsible for that and he organized the Mexico incident with the help of Phillips.

Everything, actually.

It shouldn't be forgotten that the White House detail didn't like JFK in the first place*, and some had allegedly vowed not to take the bullet. Fake or not, they would not have wanted to be anywhere near the line of fire. Putting more space between them and JFK makes a "near miss" easier.

A much used technique here at DPF: the invitation to engage in endless explanations with a person who intends to remain chronically clueless.

Precisely correct.

Your uses of the words "technique" and "intends" are spot-on.

Gordon,

The SS could have been in on the real attempt or simply following orders on the fake attempt. All designed to have all parties compromised and therefore unable to admit the truth when the investigation came. When Kennedy was dead they had their man Johnson in there and all things fell into place. So why bother with details at that point.

Lauren,

I'd be interested in your opinion of how the possible manipulation of NSAM 273 to create orders given by Kennedy that would be carried-out after he was assassinated possibly affected this scenario.
