Drew: Watergate was a CIA takedown of Nixon. (That is the very short answer). As to why there has been a lot of speculation. It definitely had to do with the JFK assassination. He kept referring to "the whole Bay of Pigs thing" (When I have more time I will get the longer quote). Years later his top aid ( Bob Haldeman ) wrote in The Ends of Power- (not positive of the title, I think this is it. ) that he used this phrase to refer to the JFK assassination. I suspect he was trying to blackmail the CIA and FBI.

Peter Lemkin Wrote:Scott Kaiser Wrote:Peter Lemkin Wrote:Scott Kaiser Wrote:This is the first time I ever heard that Nixon was looking for some photo's, I seriously doubt that they were in the Watergate building. However, it makes some sense because Nixon did want all the documents on the Bay of Pigs from Richard Helms, but Helms flat out said, no you can't have them. The only photo's I'm aware of are the photos my father stole from the CIA headquarters in Miami prior to Watergate. A few books have been written on Watergate, and speculations as to who the sixth burglar was, I'll tell you that it was my father who was recruited by Frank Sturgis, Elias Chejet is the person who drove Frank to the airport on the first burglary, my mother drove my father where the two would met in Washington. My father didn't go back to Washington the second time when all five got arrested. As soon as Watergate broke and hit the Miami Herald my father took off to Haiti and stayed at Mike Mclaney's hotel until things cooled down, but it still didn't stop the FBI from investigating my father, no one knew this until now.
Haiti, eh?......seems that a Mr. G. deM also went to Haiti for a while. Can you go a step further in explaining your father's background such that Frank Fiorini would want to 'recruit' him. Thanks.
Frank and my father was at one time very close, good friends. In fact I knew Frank as uncle Frank, until all hell broke out between Frank and my father, and in 1973 my father started to show off the photos he stole to folks like Nino Diaz, Felix Rodriguez, Richard Poyle, Aldo Vera, and many others. They didn't want my father to testify, but the government did, however, the government didn't want to provide the safety my father was asking for, so he gave the government nothing. On February 7, 1977 both Frank and Richard Poyle picked my father up for work that morning later that afternoon my mother received a phone call saying that my father was dead. William Pawley died three weeks before my father, and G. deM died three weeks after my father. I believe it all had to do with the HSCA thing going on at the time.
Interesting, indeed! Pawley and DeM were certainly killed to silence them on what they knew relating to Dallas and those involved in Dallas. There was a lot of 'cleaning up' done around that time...with MANY people murdered for what they knew and could possibly tell. What was the nature of these photos you allude to?
I once had the opportunity to speak alone with Marita Lorenz in a small town in Colorado. I asked her about the 'trip' she claimed to have made from Miami to Dallas with Frank. She didn't want to say much - other than it was true. I had met her daughter before then and that was my 'in'. She was nice, friendly and very interesting, but not forthcoming with anything she hasn't already said...and even some of that she'd not repeat or confirm. I got the feeling she was still somewhat afraid that if she said the wrong thing bad things could happen. She had a person with her who I got the feeling [later] was intelligence connected - but when I spoke with her, most of the time we were alone. She was visiting the US at that point and lived in Germany. Since, she has returned to the USA.
Your father knew a lot of 'heavies'!!!! Uncle Frank....my, my, my....
Yes, my father knew a lot of folks, Marita is a fascinating person, although I have never communicated with her in person or over the phone, I have with her son Mark, both her son Mark and daughter were friends of mine on Facebook until they found out that I have been communicating with Bambie who Marita's daughter says killed her grandmother. I don't know anything about that, nevertheless, they De-friended me because I will not seize talking to him, oh well, no one is going to dictate who I can and cannot talk to, I'm sorry for the lost of her grandmother, but I like to visit my friends in Miami as often as I can.

Dawn is correct, Watergate was a CIA set up to take Nixon out, it had nothing to do with call girls or private funding to the Democrat party by Fidel Castro. Do you know that there were two separate assassination attempts on Nixon prior to Watergate? And, my father was caught in the middle, thus the reason for Watergate was to have Nixon removed from office, I explain everything, the reason Nixon needed to be removed from office in my upcoming book that is due to be released in Oct. 2014.

Read Yankee/Cowboy. Since this is the JFK part of the forum, I'll make the following notes:
1. Connally's confident reasoned assertion that he was hit by a different bullet than the first to strike JFK.
2. NAA cited as great science. Now NAA completely discredited and inadmissible in court.
3. author doesn't consider that some of the bullet frags in the car might have come from the fatal headshot.
4. left-handed scope nonsense again. Ignore.
5. Thanks to Bob P. we know that the current NARA images of an object alleged to be CE 399 cannot have been fired from a mail order mil-surplus M-C 91/38.
6. author ignores possibility that Oswald was FBI informant (not CIA agent) attempting to locate rogue CIA operation. If Oswald was CIA, he would have had a more secure method of warning his controller about the JFK plot, than sending the FBI a letter.

The Watergate burglars (the Cubans and Liddy) were probably told a cover story by their handlers - they were there to find photographic evidence of a prostitute ring being run out of the DNC.
Remember they weren't actually in Larry O'Brian's office complex, which is how the official story is usually told; they were in an office on the other side of the building. An office occupied by an official who was usually on travel, so his phone was apparently used to arrange liaisons for young DNC staffers and visiting officials.
It wouldn't be hard to recruit some right-wing Cubans plus the right-wing Liddy to go after Democratic party dirt. But actually McCord and others (including maybe Hunt) are busy sabotaging the whole thing so they will get caught, and leave a trail of evidence pointing to the Nixon White House.

"The Watergate burglars (the Cubans and Liddy) were probably told a cover story by their handlers", this is true, "they were there to find photographic evidence of a prostitute ring being run out of the DNC." This is what G. Liddy said, and so he remained quite about the break-in for years until he decided to come forward with that story, however, that story is not true either.
"McCord", is who (betrayed) the burglars in order to get the ball rolling on Nixon. Hunt and Sturgis wanted money to finance an anti-Castro group for another evasion of Cuba, and they needed a million dollars to make it happen, the other million Hunt was hoping to extort from Nixon would go towards paying off those who served time for Nixon, including hush money paying off the companies that supplied the bugging devises.
I now know why Watergate happen, and in-fact, I am friends with Eugenio Martinez who is 92 and still showing up to MRR meetings once a month.

If you know all about it, maybe you can explain it to me in words of one syllable. How is it that the CIA is planning to take Nixon down if he didn't authorize the burglary initially? How are Hunt and Sturgis planning to extort money from Nixon, by succeeding and finding out dirt on Nixon's political opponents? Failing that, what would be their reasoning about how deliberately getting caught would make extorting money from Nixon any easier? Is McCord trying to save the President the embarrasment of getting blackmailed, by embarrassing him with the burglary? (I know Hunt hit Nixon up for money AFTER they got caught, but no one, not even Hunt, ever claimed that going along with this scheme was actually planned as a way to extort money from the President.)

There are a few authors on Watergate, but not even those authors knew who the sixth burglar was. You should try reading the Howard S. Liebengood papers, box 36, and what my father told Liebengood, than you'll know. Didn't you know that Hunt wanted two million dollars from Nixon? Didn't you know that they had to get caught in order for Nixon to get impeached? Didn't you know that those who did get caught knew that they were going to serve a short amount of time, but there would be a huge payout when released? Don't you know this stuff?
I could tell you why Watergate happen, but than it would not serve the purpose.

Wow you read Y/C? I am impressed.
Another good book that goes into great detail on Watergate is Russ Baker's Family of Secrets.
I will try to reply more fully after court, later today.
