[Image: princess-diana-death-pari-427531.jpg]SAS troops said that the death of Diana, Dodi and driver Henri Paul could not have been accidental
Soldiers serving with the elite regiment at the time are certain their deaths in a Paris car crash were not accidental.
However, they are sceptical of claims that fellow members of the regiment were involved.
Far from dismissing reports of a cover-up as a conspiracy theory, many SAS men feel there are too many unanswered questions.
A source said: "There has always been a view among certain members of the regiment that Diana's death was not an accident. It is not a view shared by every*one but there is a core of soldiers who believe she was killed.
"When you are planning a military operation you have to train and practise every step of the mission and even then things can go wrong. Look at all the factors involved in Diana's death. For that to be passed off as an accident just doesn't ring true."
Diana, 36, Dodi, 42, and their chauffeur Henri Paul, 41, were killed when their Mercedes crashed into the 13th pillar of the Pont de l'Alma underpass in Paris on August 31, 1997.

Look at all the factors involved in Diana's death. For that to be passed off as an accident just doesn't ring true.
SAS source
Scotland Yard is assessing sensational claims that the SAS was involved in the deaths which were officially caused by the grossly negligent driving of Mr Paul and that of the pursuing paparazzi.
Last week two detectives *questioned the estranged wife of *Soldier N, the former SAS *sergeant at the centre of the allegations. She is understood to have given police a "detailed and compelling" account of the claims allegedly made by her husband.
Crucially, she is believed to have assured officers that the ex-SAS sniper described the alleged plot to her several times before the break-up of their marriage.
Soldier N apparently claimed Mr Paul was blinded by an intense flash of light moments before he lost control of the *Mercedes.
The claim appears to support evidence from an ex-MI6 officer at the inquest into Diana and Dodi's death. He told the hearing he was aware of a colleague's proposal to kill Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic by using a beam of fierce light in a tunnel to blind a driver and cause him to crash.
The MI6 man revealed the existence of a shadowy unit known as The Increment, comprised of troops from the SAS and SBS, whose purpose is to *carry out lethal operations on behalf of MI6.
The wife of Soldier N was interviewed by Detective Chief Inspector Philip Easton, who worked on the multi-million-pound inquiry into Diana and Dodi's deaths codenamed Operation Paget. Mr Easton and a colleague met her and her mother last week.
The two detectives questioned them about a letter written by Soldier N's mother-in-law in September 2011 which referred to the alleged plot involving the SAS.
It was made public after the court martial of SAS sergeant Danny Nightingale in July. Both men were prosecuted for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition discovered at the home they shared in Hereford close to the SAS's headquarters.
[Image: 73617.jpg]Diana (middle), bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones (left) and driver Henri Paul on the night of the crash
Soldier N admitted the charges and was jailed for two years by a military court last year. He was *released in July and discharged from the Army. He is set to be questioned by Mr Easton.
SAS top brass have ordered serving members of the regiment to cut all ties with Soldier N.
The claims attributed to him are regarded by senior officers as the most damaging in the SAS's illustrious 70-year history. *However, insiders say Soldier N is unlikely to be totally ostracised.
There is sympathy for the plight of the man who served his country for 20 years. Many SAS soldiers have illegally kept guns and ammunition at unsecured private homes over the years.
An amnesty on unlawful weapons in the wake of the arrests of Soldier N and Danny Nightingale is said to have resulted in a large quantity of guns and ammo *being handed in.
The SAS has launched a inquiry into how the regiment became embroiled in the allegations.
Commanders want to know when the sensational claim first surfaced and who in the regiment knew about it. Officers have also been ordered to find out what action was taken against the soldier who allegedly made the boast.
General Sir Peter Wall, head of the British Army, is said to be furious that the SAS's reputation has been tarnished.
Sources close to General Wall said the controversy was "the most embarrassing and potentially damaging event in the regiment's 70-year history".

One officer called it a "fiasco" for a regiment "supposed to operate in the shadows".

The prosecution of soldier N and former SAS sergeant Danny Nightingale always struck me as highly odd. Clearly, there was a lot more involved that was reported at the time. It is not hard to conclude that soldier N and Danny Nightingale were serving members of the "Increment".

For the record, details that a flash gun was used by a motorcyclist to blind the driver of Princess Di's car were made shortly after her death by Richard Belfield of Fulcrum TV in his three documentaries for ITV and Channel 4 on the subject.

David, and others, do you think this can force a real investigation?! I'm skeptical that a real investigation will come out of this, no matter how true it might be. If this was the real scenario, it is quite obvious that the person with the super-bright blinding light didn't plan this assassination...and the likely suspects are rather :danceing:high up, and IMO would be protected at all costs. Even if the finger pointed at MI6 tasking a SAS team, MI6 doesn't decide to do such things on its own.....Pirate I guess time will tell...or not tell.....

Based on all that I have read, this photo is deceptive insofar as it begs the inference that the terrible damage to the MB was caused by the impact.

But among the "earliest" images of the crash scene are views of the car with its passenger compartment intact.

Further, it was stated that the hand-held apparatus known colloquially as the "jaws of life" was required to remove Princess Diana from the wreckage. But again there are images extant showing an open rear door and an intact roof.

The "jaws" may have been necessary to extricate survivor Trevor Rees-Jones and access the bodies of Henri Paul and Dodi al Fayed.

The bottom line: The cover story is best served by images of an MB that suffered the sort of damage visible in the photo above.

Not a chance Pete. This story will run for awhile, with nothing being done about it, and then allowed to go cold.

There's been an inquest don't you know... it took over a decade to arrange (clearly an illegality), and the verdict was that Diana had been unlawfully killed due to the dangerous driving of Henri Paul.

There are echoes in Michael Hastings' hitting the palm at speed.

Jan at 4 suggests the scare-Diana hypothesis is a limited hangout.

Lane is of interest:

Lane writes that Allen's documentary demonstrates that evidence was covered up and the truth distorted. For instance, he explains, the paparazzi trailing the car were not responsible for the accident. More likely: the driver of a white Fiat with alleged ties to the MI6 intelligence agency.

Diana's premonitions were well-founded. She was likely a pain in the royal ass; which was why she was loved.

The event was the year after Ron Brown, having announced to Nolanda he was tired of being the errand boy for the First Lady, flew into a stolen beacon on a mountain whereupon a retrieval squad caused a round hole in his head and a stewardess with minor injuries to die in the ambulance.

No doubt Diana was treated by a special team.

In the Urban Dictionary the article spelling Boston Breaks is rendered as Boston Brakes; in either case, a plausible explanation for the Diana car and that of Michael Hastings to veer fatally:

"the boston brakes": assassination technique developed in boston by the s.i.s
a technique in which microchip transceiver's built into cars (mostly after theft and recovery) override the steering column and braking functions causing seemingly out of control accidents
drift, powerslide, and or skid marks are all commonly found in cases involving the "boston brakes" the "boston brakes" theory has been proven through scientific studies to be real and is believed to be the method used for the assassination of princess diana!

What I was told was the the shadowy forces mentioned by HM Queen were, in fact, the Defence of the Realm boys, who were less than happy that Diana was gong to live with Dodi in the former Paris home of the other royal black sheep, the abdicated King Edward VIII and Mrs Simpson. The prospect of there being two royal courts, one in London, the other in Paris, was just too much to allow it to become a reality.

Charles, I vaguely remember that Paul Rigby posted some fairly pristine pictures of Di's black mercedes car being loaded on a transporter to be taken out of the tunnel. This was many, many moons ago. I've tried to find them but can't. Any further input in furtherance of this would be useful. The pictures I can now find show a fairly pristine rear part of the car, but nothing showing the front end other than those reflecting a completely crumpled write-off.

They could have also tampered with the exhaust system along with using a blinding light, having 'special forces' 'medics' at the scene, and a trailing white car that seemed to try to drive the Mercedes out of lane [and who knows what else]....like in triangulated fire shooting you want to use many things/positions to ensure a kill.....by one or more of them.

The "Boston Brakes" is an SAS technique.

From the Feather Men thread:

Quote:However, there is a paperback edition of The Feather Men which includes photographs of the victims and other real life characters, a map (Oman in 1976) and other illustrations (e.g. a block diagram of the modification of the BMW car brake system to incorporate remote radio control) and an index. It was published by Signet in 1992 - ISBN 0-451-17455-0

And David Guyatt has extensively researched the "flashing light to blind the driver" assassination technique, which is also a British military/intelligence hallmark.
