Determining the "how" of Z-film alteration remains an essential component in the effort to reverse-engineer the broader conspiracy so as to identify the original engineers and their Sponsors.

Jan and I -- among others -- have been focused on the "why" of Z-film alteration. The "distraction" (what Evica and I first described as "cognitive dissonance") which Jan correctly references is itself, at least to my mind, the sine qua non both for the success and the perpetuation of the cover-up. Further, the camera original and its doppelgangers are to be understood within the context of the multiple doppelganger gambits (two or more LHO's, JFK and LHO autopsies, JFK brain exams, pre-Dallas alleged plots against the president's life, etc.) within the conspiracy/cover-up meta-structure.

It is important to note that I believe I am the only "private viewer" who reported that Secret Service agents piled out of the Queen Mary (SS follow up
car). This has always troubled me because the others didn't report seeing this. Again it could be explained because of differences in focus, where I was
specifically directed to focus on "what went wrong" which would cause me to focus on the actions of the protective detail. The others very well could have
been "naturally" focused on other items--OR--it could have been different films.

This activity still remains a mystery... while I had argued in the past that this could have occurred much later, it is plain in Nix that Chaney slows to a virtual stop while looking to his right along with his partner.

There is no evidence in the films or photos that what is testified to actually have happened... Either it happened much later than testified to and these men are simply extremely off on their timing, it NEVER happened and they all are telling the same story, or it did happen and was removed from the films for some reason....

Either way it is a very strange contradiction to what we see.

In Sorrels' report (with Hargis and others corroborating) he states that BEFORE the limo has reached the Lead Car that he was riding in, a motorcycle cop rode up, was asked if anyone was hurt and replied that JFK was shot.

Mr. HARGIS - Yes; when President Kennedy straightened back up in the car the bullet him in the head, the one that killed him and it seemed like his head exploded, and I was splattered with blood and brain, and kind of bloody water,
It wasn't really blood. And at that time the Presidential car slowed down. I heard somebody say, "Get going," or "get going,"
Mr. STERN - Someone inside--
Mr. HARGIS - I don't know whether it was the Secret Service car, and I remembered seeing Officer Chaney. Chaney put his motor in first gear and
accelerated up to the front to tell them to get everything out of the way, that he was coming through, and that is when the Presidential limousine shot off
, and
I stopped and got off my motorcycle and ran to the right-hand side of the street, behind the light pole.

Mr. CURRY - A sharp report as a firecracker or as it was it was the report of this rifle.
We were just approaching an underpass, and there were some people around on each side of the underpass, up in the railroad yards, and I thought at first that perhaps this was a railroad torpedo, it was a sharp crack.
Inspector--no, it wasn't Inspector, it was Lawson of the Secret Service and Mr. Sorrels of the Dallas office of the Secret Service, and Sheriff Bill Decker and myself were in this car.
Mr. DULLES - I may be anticipating.
Mr. RANKIN - That is all right, go right ahead.
Mr. CURRY - I said what was that, was that a firecracker, or someone said this, I don't recall whether it was me or someone else, and from the report I couldn't tell whether it was coming from the railroad yard or whether it was coming from behind but I said over the radio, I said, "Get someone up in the railroad yard and check."
And then about this time, I believe it was motorcycle Officer Chaney rode up beside of me and looking back in the rear view mirror I could see some commotion in the President's car and after this there had been two more reports, but these other two reports I could tell were coming behind instead of from the railroad yards.

I happen to believe those who I have heard describe the film they saw...

Whether that film was the original Zfilm is another matter... there is no testimony I know of that mentions SS agents leaving the Queen Mary with guns drawn... only to jump back into the vehicle
and follow the limo to Parkland... these same witnesses describe a stop, an explosion of red back and to the left towards Hargis with the vivid impression the shot comes from the right front.

A detailed description from one of these viewers is/was available as written by the viewer...

Up, then over to the left
(a sewer shot could cause the "up" part and may be the reason the limo is cropped to above the wheels... while Zap films the expanse of the lawn instead of keeping JFK in the middle of the frame as he did up to that point... this changes just as the SIGN comes into view.... I believe we would have seen a reflection of the sewer on the limo as it passes and possibly a flash or smoke or something from that sewer if a shot had been taken from there - and the reason for the shift in the framing of the scene...)

When and if anyone can explain what happens to the ROWLEY first day film he gets from Phillips from Sorrels from Zapruder (the one DeLoach may have seen early morning saturday as he claims)
we may have a better idea of who had which film, when, why and for what purpose...
THIS film, imo, may have been the in-camera original as there is little in the way of evidence available that shows the film Stolley took and the one Chicago/NY finally viewed was actually 0183, or whether it was 16mm or 8mm.

Zapruder's letter to CD Jackson states he kept the film in 16mm format... and never mentions it was split. S
ome thought ought to be given - deep or otherwise - as to whether the Rowley copy (8mm per Phillips' note) is what Dino sees Saturday... if we accept that 0183 may not have been split at all.

From Horne, p.1198... FBI Agent Barrett produces a report on 12-4 stating that Zapruder claims the original is on 16mm (tried to find the report... any help?) and is much clearer than those on the 8mm film.

I figure the report is in Gemberling but I haven't found it yet. The report alos supposedly states the film was recorded at 24fps... !! .... which was not possible with that camera...

The questions to answer are:
  1. was the film sent to Rowley was really 8mm per Phillips, (Sorrels' deposition stated that he was given 2 copies by Zapruder... one to Rowley and 0186, the other, to the FBI....
    Max tells us the THIRD print is forwarded and Sorrels has 2 copies, Zap has ONLY the master - If Zap kept the best first day copy and gave it to Stolley, Sorrels had 0186 and the Rowley copy
    there appears to be 2 - "THIRD" prints
  2. what was done with it that night, and
  3. could it have been the basis for the Dino boards if 0183 was still in 16mm, unslit format.
Once in a while you get shown the light
in the strangest of places if you look at it right.....

David - your analysis is interesting.

However, Doug Horne in the OP of this thread has given the most convincing account yet of what was done, and where it was done, to the original rushes.

My working hypothesis is that the Time Life Zapruder, and the variations on Zapruder as shown to Greg and others, are all cut downs of a master film which has never been shown to the public or any JFK researcher.

The master film would provide a genuine historical record of what happened in Dallas.

Time Life Zapruder, and the various Zapruderettes, provide tantalising clues by omission or alteration, but do not provide a genuine historical record.

Given this, I think endless analysis of a deliberately corrupted and partial text (Time Life Zapruder) is essentially a distraction.

In short, the master film might help answer deep political questions, whilst Time Life Zapruder and the Zapruderettes are akin to Waiting for the Man, humming his song.



I'd like to come full circle and discuss the "WHY" - in a deep political context - we have one or many cut down versions of the Zfilm.

Jan, can you tell me which "deep political questions" you have in mind that the master film may answer... ??? That is the only part of the model and discussion I regularly misunderstand..

To ME, WHY is pretty obvious... the puzzle pieces needed to fit together. By 9:18pm Friday night it was fully known what kind of injuries the film HAD to show and what it HAD to hide... but I gather than is not the WHY you and CD are referring to...

By this memo on NOV 22, we are aware that the SS has a bullet, AND there is one lodged behind his ear... HOW would they know this other than from the work done at Bethesda prior to 8pm and from one of the MANY SS agents at the scene?

To me, the HOW leads me to Rowley who receives an 8mm version of the film Friday night and MAY already route it for alteration BEFORE Dino even sees it Saturday night.
TIME/LIFE's film is used to create the B&W images seen in the Nov 29th issue... OR those images were already created when Hawkeyeworks created the cut down altered "master".

the MASTER/ORIGINAL and copies are gone to history... I believe that any and all versions of the film originated at Hawkeyeworks and that everyone from Dino thru Homer, McCone, LBJ and all others NEVER get to see the original which stays at Hawkeyeworks... a first sanitized verson goes to NPIC saturday night... a 2nd 16mm version which now has the aerial painting of the black blotches and red blob gets to NPIC and LIFE on Sunday.

The WHY, in the Deep Political Context also revolves around the reoccurring theme of DOUBLES... so that different people can describe the same event or piece of evidence truthfully while also contradicting other "truthful" accounts.

Why? - to add layers and confusion to the onion as it is peeled...
