Lying treasonous cowards...amazing what thirty pieces of silver can do to some people. %$#@ clowns.
Lying and treasonous for sure, but not done for money by and large...but for their neo-fascist beliefs and for the love of power. Hoover was very corrupt and totally other than one interested in such trivial matters as Democracy, Justice, Truth, Law, Fairness, Rights, or even the Constitution. He was regularly hanging out with members of organized crime, and creating his own 'mafia'/'gestapo' in the FBI to fight against all progressives and anyone he didn't like [most anyone who tried to reign in his lust for power]. He was directly involved in blackmail and murders; covering up others. He even went after homosexuals, though he was a flaming closet one himself. A totally horrible human, lacking any positive traits; the very last person who should have ever run a nations investigative service. Sadly, we haven't gotten much better to follow him either in the FBI, CIA, or other such alphabet agencies.....we are run by the crud of society, not the creme - when we rarely get some they get murdered or shut out/down soon enough. Hoover's list of crimes and sedition is very long....JFK, McCarthyism, HUAC, MLK....and on and on and on....... What happened to the voluminous blackmail files he kept in his office is still not known. That the FBI building still bears his name is a stain on our polity. Even the Soviets denounced Stalin...but we can't denounce Hoover publicly yet. The entire agency perpetuates his 'example' to this day, sadly.
Hear!, hear, Mr. Lemkin, thanks for telling future generations what drove these mad men to sell their souls to the devil (bunch of self-righteous cowards, who would rather resort to shooting an unarmed elected representative of the people than challenge him fair and square at the ballot-box a year later). Some people come to power the old fashioned way, deriving it from the consent of those governed...not these spineless cowards though, stealing power and lying about it came much easier for them because they couldn't secure it fairly.
