[Reached for comment late this afternoon a spokesperson for the Secret Service had the following response: "The Secret Service categorically denies the allegation that security for President Obama was less strict than airport security. In fact the security was directly comparable to, and in fact modeled on, the security at Love Field on November 22, 1963. However, the Secret Service is not at liberty to divulge details on matters of national security.]
[Asked to clarify the spokesperson had this to say: "Specifically the Secret Service has constructed a two layer system wherein:
1-Security is stripped for living presidents whom they dislike, then
2-The body is zealously and violently guarded to insure that no ill befalls it.
The public should rest assured that this approach has been utilized since 1963, and is a great success in the view of decision makers at the departments of Treasury, Defense, State, Oil and Banking."]

Myra,
Are you telling us that you are the author of the two bracketed and italicized portions of your post appearing above?
Yes Charlie; I was just adding my editorial spin to a recent news report about lack of security around President Obama. It wasn't clear that's what I was doing in my original post [my bad] so I edited it to clarify.
