Speaking of FBI science, there was also the "science" of "neutron activation analysis," now completely discredited as being probative of finding a "match" between manufactured metal items; which, if I remember correctly, was first used in support of the JFK lone nut theory.
PS: the "neutron activation" part is ok, just the "analysis" part is problematic: the idea that counting molecules of impurity can statistically lead to a conclusion of concurrent manufacture.
