Mr. Fetzer,
I have visited the site that you gave me a link for , http://www.und.edu/org/jfkconference/ , and I notice that you do not mention that jfk was against israel obtaining a nuclear weapon. In fact jfk was not backing down from insisting that israel subject its nuclear plant at dimona to twice yearly inspections. To my knowledge that plant at dimona, to this very day, has never been inspected by anyone.
I think this is a significant event that deserves to be mentioned on your website.
How is it that today israel is suspected of having over 200 nuclear weapons if the dimona nuclear plant was devoted entirely to peaceful purposes? Lynden Johnson permitted what jfk prevented.
Here is letter that jfk wrote to the israeli prime minister demanding inspections of israels nuclear power plant. Notice the date of this letter, july 5 1963.
(I added the bold highlight)
Dear Mr. Prime Minister [Eshkol]:
It gives me great personal pleasure to extend congratulations as you assume your responsibilities as Prime Minister of Israel. You have our friendship and best wishes in your new tasks. It is on one of these that I am writing you at this time.
You are aware, I am sure, of the exchange which I had with Prime Minister Ben-Gurion concerning American visits to Israel’s nuclear facility at Dimona. Most recently, the Prime Minister wrote to me on May 27. His words reflected a most intense personal consideration of a problem that I know is not easy for your Government, as it is not for mine. We welcomed the former Prime Minister’s strong reaffirmation that Dimona will be devoted exclusively to peaceful purposes and the reaffirmation also of Israel’s willingness to permit periodic visits to Dimona.
I regret having to add to your burdens so soon after your assumption of office, but I feel the crucial importance of this problem necessitates my taking up with you at this early date certain further considerations, arising out of Mr. Ben-Gurion’s May 27 letter, as to the nature and scheduling of such visits.
I am sure you will agree that these visits should be as nearly as possible in accord with international standards, thereby resolving all doubts as to the peaceful intent of the Dimona project. As I wrote Mr. Ben-Gurion, this Government’s commitment to and support of Israel could be seriously jeopardized if it should be thought that we were unable to obtain reliable information on a subject as vital to the peace as the question of Israel’s effort in the nuclear field.
Therefore, I asked our scientists to review the alternative schedules of visits we and you had proposed. If Israel’s purposes are to be clear beyond reasonable doubt, I believe that the schedule which would best serve our common purposes would be a visit early this summer, another visit in June 1964, and thereafter at intervals of six months. I am sure that such a schedule should not cause you any more difficulty than that which Mr. Ben-Gurion proposed in his May 27 letter. It would be essential, and I understand that Mr. Ben-Gurion’s letter was in accord with this, that our scientist have access to all areas of the Dimona site and to any related part of the complex, such as fuel fabrication facilities or plutonium separation plant, and that sufficient time to be allotted for a thorough examination.
Knowing that you fully appreciate the truly vital significance of this matter to the future well-being of Israel, to the United States, and internationally, I am sure our carefully considered request will have your most sympathetic attention.
Sincerely,
John F. Kennedy

mordecai vanunu worked at the dimona nuclear plant and was the whistleblower who informed the world of israels nuclear arsenal. He had this to say about the jfk assassination.

The links are working now Magda.
Bob Ringler is correct in claiming JFK wanted six monthly inspections. The reason was that the reactor had a six month fuel cycle. Despite Kennedy's pressure, the Israelis never allowed more than one inspection per year, usually citing domestic political problems as a reason for delaying AEC inspections, much to Kennedy's ire. After Kennedy died, there was much less pressure on the Israelis and they tightly controlled the ground rules, whereby the inspections degenerated into farce.
From Cohen's 'Israel and the Bomb', here is the chronology of the eight inspections by the Americans:
20 May 1961
26 September 1962
18 January 1964
30 January 1965
2 April 1966
22 April 1967
Late June 1968
12 July 1969
The inspections (or 'visits' as the Israelis insisted they be called) were limited to one day, with a single team of no more than three AEC scientists. They insisted they be carried out on a Saturday, the Jewish sabbath, when no workers would be present so none could be asked questions by the AEC inspectors.
Further, the AEC team was closely escorted by their Israeli hosts, they were not permitted to bring radioactive measuring instruments or collect any samples for later analysis. The team were shown records of irradiation for each fuel rod, which were in Hebrew. None of the AEC team could read or speak Hebrew. Since the first visit in 1961, successive teams repeatedly and pointedly complained that the one day format was inadequate even for a modest inspection (one inspection lasted only 45 minutes), and that more backup data were required. They were told that these were the Israeli ground rules and they could not be altered without jeopardising the entire arrangement. (Cohen pp. 188-189)
By these means, the Israelis were able to conceal the fact they had built a plutonium reprocessing plant underneath the main reactor.
No IAEA inspectors have ever visited Dimona. Israel has never signed the NPT or acknowledged their nuclear capability.

Well, if I were convinced that there had been Israeli involvement in the death of JFK, I would say so. Based upon my research, there was a confluence of interests to take him out. It was a red-blooded American affair and the Mossad never had the chance. On the other hand, I have discovered indications of Israeli complicity in the events of 9/11. Try "9/11 and the Neo-Con Agenda" or "Is 9/11 research 'anti-Semitic'?", for example, which you can google. Should I change my mind, you will be among the first to know. Thanks for asking.

Mr. Fetzer,
I know Bob Ringler addressed this thread to you, but since he seems to be absent at present, allow me to make the observation that my research has convinced me that quite the opposite is the case. JFK's death was a red blooded Zionist affair and America never stood a chance.
Perhaps we differ on the definition of 'American'.
For example, Jack Ruby was technically an 'American' but his primary loyalty was to Zionist Israel, for whom he sacrificed his liberty.
James Angleton was technically an American but his time heading the Israel desk at the CIA was spent serving Israel's interests. His refusal to share information relating to the Dimona project enabled the project to escape America's notice in the critical first three years.
In December 1960, shortly after the discovery of Dimona by the US authorities, the US Intelligence Board asked the Joint Atomic Energy Intelligence Committee ''to prepare a detailed postmortem on why the intelligence community did not recognise this development (Dimona) earlier'. The study concluded that 'information was available to some elements of the intelligence community as early as April 1958 that could have alerted the atomic energy intelligence community to Israeli intentions'. (Cohen, p.84)
LBJ was technically an American President, but analysis of his actions reveals a loyalty to Israel above that of any loyalty to America. I don't need to go into detail here but the USS Liberty incident is just one example of this.
I think you will find that the JFK case is littered with players like this. All you need to do is look.

Listen,
My research (often based upon that of others who have gone before me) has established (a) that there are at least fifteen indications of Secret Service complicity in setting him up for the hit, (b) that the CIA/military/mafia were involved in taking him out, © that the FBI was used to cover it up, (d) that J. Edgar and Lyndon were principals, and (e) with financing from wealthy Texas oil men. I can prove my allegations. You appear to be willing to infer from Ruby's ethnicity to Israeli control and to make other speculative inferences that I am unwilling to adopt. My only advantages in dealing with these issues are (i) that I have been working with the best qualified individuals to ever study the case, (ii) that we have reconstructed the case from the bottom up, and (iii) that I had the benefit of 35 years teaching logic, critical thinking, and scientific reasoning as background in evaluating arguments and evidence. There were more than sufficient parties who wanted to kill him without a stretch to Tel Aviv. You are welcome to your opinions. Show some respect for those of others.
Jim

Since I have many publications, I am puzzled that one chapter from a book with thirty-- http://www.und.edu/org/jfkconference/ --should be your only source about my views on the assassination. I discuss JFK on at least three web sites, http://assassinationscience.com, http://assassinationresearch.com and my blog at http://jamesfetzer.blogspot.com. When there is more than one sufficient cause of an event, the situation is known as one of "over-determination". I certainly agree that Israel has been the prime offender with regard to the development of atomic weapons and needs to be brought under international control. That, however, is not the same thing as having proof that Israel was involved in the assassination of JFK and that hypothesis is not necessary to explain it, which is an example of "Occam's Razor". Israel could have motive without having participated, even if it was an outcome it preferred, which appears to have been the case here. You could write to the twenty-nine other contributors to the same book and find out if they do or do not agree.
