Maybe Jim is not right about everything but neither are some others. Others are completely off the planet and yet they remain untouched. And as for the abuse there has been plenty of it and others far worse than any thing Jim has said.

Wow!
Jim, if you are reading this, I read your book. I come from the David Guyatt school of the JFK assassination. The details are too much, but thank goodness for people such as yourself who are willing to go there.
I read your book to get understand Jim Garrison more. He is an American hero.

The research community has been like this almost from the beginning (read John Kelin's Praise from a Future Generation to see how often the first generation bickered and fought with each other). The internet just makes it possible for this kind of thing to happen much faster.
Bob Harris recently pulled the plug on his forum without even leaving it up as an archive. I left a comment on one of his Youtube videos asking for an explanation. Somehow I don't think we'll get one. Harris admitted to me in one post that he didn't even like JFK very much. He also made frequent apologies for the CIA, defended the 1954 Guatemala coup, posted Muslim-hating videos, and generally acted like some kind of gatekeeper, IMO.

On the other hand Harris' video with trooper Nolan and the Connally bullet is very good research and shows there was a bullet associated with Connally that was disappeared. I was also blocked from Harris' videos.

Just read the thread over at
The Swamp.
Simkin was notable in recent years only by his lengthy absences. He never liked being challenged.
When he did choose to act, he supported entities such as "Colby", and allowed Burton to behave like The Military Censor.
Robert Charles-Dunne said all that needs to be said about the so-called Education Forum:
Quote:I agree with John Simkin - for whom I have great respect - that this Forum has been on a downhill slide for some time. The moderators have done nothing to slow the decline, but actually contributed to it with their one-sided punishments.
If it continues, the loss of one's membership will be a badge of honour, rather than a slight.

Simkin surfaces from the murky depths, offers some self-serving tosh, deletes another member, and dives back into the Black Lagoon....

I made it clear from the start that I thought John's decision to ban two of the forum's most knowledgeable members simply because he didn't like what they had to say was just plain wrong especially in light of what he allows the likes of David Lifton and Craig Lamson to get away with.
I'm glad he deleted my membership. I won't miss it.

The problem is the Education Forum is a popular high profile intellectual site. This will remove some of the best brains and their effect on assassination knowledge.
The best way to judge this is how some of the weakest members with some of the weakest material all jumped in sycophantic unison to praise Simkin's decision.
No offense but I can't help but think of this as British rule.

The only thing good about this is that we may see more of Jim here. I for one would welcome that.
